as far as snubbing: SHYT, ya'll don't know who the hell got invited. how do u know they just couldn't attend. u people are always trying 2 make something out of nothing. maybe because u haven't done anything significant in your lives 2 deserve 2 be considered 2 be invited 2 something so wonderful. its about time BLACK WOMYN have been honored 4 being able 2 get through live rising above the DOUBLE WAMMY of being black AND female!! and the ONLY one on this EARTH able 2 pull of such an event,so elegantly, was OPRAH. why hasn't it been done before? because anyone who ain't black & ain't a womyn ain't thinking about that shyt. that's why. If you had not noticed the world is white, and so whites need not celebrate themselves as they are in the majority. Blacks make up about 13% of the population but if we count the illegal hispanics that percentage will definitely decrease.... and every other event celebrates that.
I bet you aren't angry when gay people have rallies or on St.Patrick's day or Cinco De Mayo....why can't black people celebrate themselves b/c it has been only 40 years since civil rights..And as a statistics students who has evaluated raw data, black women are still not compensated financially on the same level as other races or males even when education,IQ, and other factors are considered. So our successes should be celebrates b/c they are still not the norm in 2006. I don't see any tributes to J LO for makin' fat asses cool. But can you imagine what OPRAH or others would do if there was a televised PRIME TIME special called SKINNY WHITE GIRLS BALL?!?!?!?!
