I mean, I get it, I do. Black chics had a hard time makin' it back in the day. We know ALLLLL about it. But WTF already. Okay Oprah appreciates them making the way a bit easier for her and other black women. GREAT.....send them a thank you card. Or even go ahead.....Have a "Legends Ball". But WTF, DON'T TELEVISE IT!!!!! I'm sure Fat Italian Men, Jewish Men w/big noses, Skinny white girls w/no titts, Latinos w/big asses, had a hard time makin' it in show bussiness too. I don't see any tributes to J LO for makin' fat asses cool. But can you imagine what OPRAH or others would do if there was a televised PRIME TIME special called SKINNY WHITE GIRLS BALL?!?!?!?! People would be ALLLL over it. Exact same post on 2 threads - are you just baiting w/ this shit? Whatever, I've responded on the other thread. I won't repost, but if you really are this unknowing I sincerely hope you learn something from the responses you're getting

Completely ignoring their legendary status, dismissing them as society already does on a regular while going back to that same old, "what about ME" question (as she has already identified herself as a skinny White girl). It's both typical & SO strange @ the same time... . [Edited 5/23/06 18:23pm]

Supposedly she does get stage panic (like Striesand)...but i've heard she is incredibly unhappy with her looks and has always been...she goes through more photo shoots for album covers than anyone! Well thank you ThreadBare for explaining it so wonderfully. Maybe I should have thought of the reactions I would recieve b4 I spoke, but in reality I wasn't trying to offend anyone of any race.
But I have, and you so have so kindly pointed out why. Instead of bashing me and calling me racist which I am not. And accusing me of baiting, when I simly posted on 2 threads becuz I was being accused of being part of the KKK on both. I was also accused of being the "kind of white person who says I'm not racist, I have a black friend". Well actually, I am that kind of person. I don't have many black friends. I guess your gonna put me down cuzza of the black white ratio in a lil' coal minin' town in PA. That's fine. But I did grow up in a foreign country, in an International school, where Americans were the minority, and I loved it and the people, so I am secure enough to know I'm not a racist. So I don't feel the need to grovel to people like who only hear what they want any way. But I do feel like people like CalhounSq, and Paisly4U and ThreadBare, actually may have been sincere in their replies. So this is 4 them. That is where I'm comin' from, my VERY 1st post, if you read it, was not aimed to hurt. It is how I felt when I noticed there was no other race being honored at the event, so maybe I got a taste of how blacks felt many many times. So now becuz of that maybe I'll be more "aware" in the future. Lesson learned. Oh, and I will be posting this on both threads. NOT to bait

They made a big deal out of it, can't remember exactly what it was.
Something to the effect that Whoopi appeared in Oprah's show and was lamenting that her show was TOO DIRECTING at the suburban white community more than the black community. Correct me if I'm mistaken ya'll coz I'm not sure.
