To answer the question. He's alright, got a good voice. But, I'm not a big fan. I think he belongs in a lounge act in Vegas, entertaining drunk travelers. I think he'd be VERY good at that but I don't think he's much MORE than that.

i was surprised he was NOT voted off last week ... i think the other guy was better than Taylor ....

i predict the girl will win ... but of course ... u never know ...

He's alright. Surprised he made it as far as he did. Like Darin said, fun to watch drunk in a bar, but no way no how would I buy a record. I can just put on a Joe Cocker album if I wanted the real deal.

Elliot has a great voice, but his personality and stage presence are severely lacking. As for Taylor, you can feel his passion for performing. It's infectious. And his dancing is...well...one of a kind

As a side note, it's nice to see my hometown represented so well on a national level. It's a pretty great city, and a hotbed of very talented people when it comes to music, film, and the arts.. After Taylor wins, we'll have 2 American Idol Winners (Ruben Studdard, Taylor Hicks), and one runner-up (Bo Bice) out of 5 seasons.

Kelly Clarkson blew up with her second CD, but her appeal was directed at those that used to buy NSYNC CDs - huge fanbase. Taylor's audience would be a different group for the most part. Other idols have not fared as well on their second releases.

And I'm not sure that Taylor wouldn't be just as happy continuing to play club gigs with his band. He's more than just a singer - he's a musician. American Idol seems to want to put everybody into the same little box. Hence Kelly Clarkson's 2nd CD entitled "Breakaway". In my opinion, the material that they chose for Bo Bice to record for his first CD just doesn't really fit him, either.

I agree with you for the most part. While I think he definitely added something new and different to the American Idol game itself, his long-term success may continue to be as a frontman/vocalist/guitarist in his own band, and not as some Joe Cocker-esque singer simply standing behind a mic.

Taylor just looks like he's comfortable and has FUN with it. ANd his energy level is off the charts.

Down to brass tacks here. All this show is going to produce is some pop singer singing mostly crappy covers on their Debut CD (that will look like a bad photoshop job) that'll go on sale and be pushed via Clear Channel and add to the Dreck on Radio. And make Simon millions.

i can't believe he's still on there. i haven't watched since the beginning of April. i think it's excellent he's lasted this long. definitely the longshot, but the one you root for.


the guy LOVES music. nobody's body spazzes out like that during a performance if they don't love what they're doing.
