Pharrell's Number 1 Well it's a little better than the last two songs.
[snip-sos ] Hip-hop superstars Kanye West and Pharrell Williams have teamed up to record a track together. The star duo - who are widely regarded as two of the most innovative rappers on the planet - have teamed up on a song called 'Number 1', which is set to appear on Pharrell's forthcoming solo album. The pair filmed a video for the track in Miami at the weekend and the tune was produced by Pharrell under his Skateboard P' alter ego with Kanye providing guest raps. Pharrell's solo record, titled 'In My Mind', is slated for release in July and also features collaborations with Gwen Stefani, Daddy Yankee and Nelly. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Say what you will about his singing but the song itself is really good!

Upon initial listens, I could do without Kanye's constant adlibs.

Not number 1 in my book.

You're probably right but I'm used to hearing producers that can't sing as well as the people they hand over songs to so I don't really flinch.

This is more along the lines of what I thought would be on the album.
Too bad he and Kelis fell out because I’d like to hear her on a cut or two. I'm not really feeling I'm Bossy. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Gah. Here I am think it was a Goldfrapp cover.
That would be kinda cool if he did cover that song, tho'. With his falsetto.

The melody of the song is very Off The Wallish. I like the way P's voice soundz on the track. The only thing Im not feeling is Kanye's rambling all over the track. Im definitly feeling what Pharrell is cookin'.
JULY 25th folks! | |

In the past I've been a fan of Pharrell's production. He peeked with In Search Of..., and I've been bored with most stuff he's done since then (though I liked Kelis' last album). It's kinda dull and the production sounds exactly like everything he's done in the past couple of years. The backing vocals in the chorus are catchy, but that's about it. Boring. Oh, and Kanye says "shit" about 20 times too many.
Shelf the entire album. Are people even looking forward to this album anymore? Its release is a joke. [Edited 5/19/06 16:43pm]

Hook has this Blame it On the Boogie / Ladies Night (bridge) feel. Retro and new. I like it. Why do you like playing around with my narrow scope of reality? - Stupify

Pharrell returns in the form of early 80's MJ. Hasn't got the voice but at least he tried . I like it.
Now put out a version without Kanye on it.

I can see into the future and it tells me that this CD when it finally hits...will be in the used CD pile quicker than Bobby Brown sings Bacharach.
