Your mother made this decision (All of our mother's did). So unless she carried you everywhere, somewhere in the world are people that were courteous to her.

i'm sorry? i think maybe you misunderstood what i was saying. i am courteous to strollers. i do move. in most cases i have to or i'll get run down. what i was saying was i can't deal with those people who have strollers and are totally oblivious to people around them. its like there is some expectation that everyone should be watching out for them because, after all, they have the stroller. i think that is rude. if you choose to have a child and you choose to use a stroller down a small city sidewalk, you need to be courteous to others and pay attention to where you're going. don't simply expect peeps to jump out of your way.

Thank you. But no, this bitch wants to be cute & hold her precious drink - WTF? whofarted Be smart Brit, if you can manage a smart thought - have a "handler" hold your fucking drink while you hang on to your kid. I mean she IS in a crowd, right? Why would you want to have less control by holding on w/ one hand? And she's probably stupid enough to be wearing heels which makes her balance even more off.

Yea this could happen to anyone but fuck me, take some precautions woman especially w/ the whole world watching your dumb ass - put the damn drink down disbelief

That's too much for her pint-sized brain to process. That kid won't make it to his third birthday. What a mom! biggrin

The kid didn't fall....It's getting to be regoddamndicilous! I mean, does the media think they are protecting this child by watching her every move...they don't give a shit about the kids well being. They probably hope they get a picture of her somehow really inflecting pain on the child, purposely or not! And as I heard some guy on TV say, any parent that is being followed 24-7 would have all their parenting mistakes on display. Then again, there part of me thinks these actions are Fruedian and are saying she doesn't want to be a mom....That's terrible, I know.

I agree completely! It's pretty terrible. Brit's a dumb bunny, but big deal. Everyone makes mistakes. And Calhoun...come on now! How many moms have you seen hold a baby in one hand and something else - drink, food, whatever - in the other? That much isn't a big deal. I do feel bad for Brit, and I'm not even a fan really. She seemed really shook up by it, and you just know the photogs are desperately hoping she'll do something fatally wrong so they can be the first to capture and profit from it. It's kinda terrible. I'm trying to reduce the number or celeb gossip I digest, and this is a prime example of why.

I feel sorry for her. Accidents happen, but in her case she's not allowed to be anything less than a perfect mother. I can't even imagine the pressure she must be under, having her every move watched and analyzed.

Seeing those pics of her breaking down makes me feel real sympathy for her. I remember my son falling and how upsetting it was to me. Anyone who makes fun of her for reacting this way is an idiot.

As for the stroller hating...I think it has nothing to do with the stroller and everything to do with the person pushing it. Most people are so fucking oblivious of their surroundings. I can't stand that.

And when it comes to strollers on the bus/subway....how else do you expect people to get around if they don't have a car? I can't even imagine trying to run my errands with my purse, baby supplies and my 10 month old in my arms.

Maybe people in wheelchairs should be looked at as an annoyance as well.

Thank God I have a vehicle and I don't have to take public transportation.

I've seen lots of mothers do it, but they weren't on a crowded street with the fucking media all in her path. I just think that due to the nature of her life she should be more careful, especially when her baby is in her arms...

It said she had the baby in one and a glass in the other. Honestly I think a baby that size needs to be held with two hands. When a baby is heavy and strong enough to fight or buck you never know what's going to happen. Anybody can trip but carrying a baby and tripping is scary.

I hate how the media said she had the baby in one hand and a drink in the other. Like they don't know that shit is water because after all, she's pregnant. The mere fact that they chose to use the word "drink", shows that they are trying to suggest that maybe that may be an alcoholic beverage. I don't know any other beverage that is clear like that that isn't water or some alcoholic beverage except for Sprite and she probably wouldn't be drinking that either because of the caffeine. Subtle things like that accompanied with this incident being blown out of proportion is terrible.

Why are you "anti-stroller"?

because the size of the average stroller these days is beginning to rival that of an SUV, and it's like running an obstacle course to walk down the street for a carton of milk because none of the people pushing these mammoth rikshaws can be bothered to watch where they're going. they need to sell rearview mirrors for those things - require licenses - SOMEthing. mad

For some reason, that sounds so "anti-baby" and funny as hell!!

Each photo these guys get is big money to the publishing companies that use them for their magazines. It's ridiculous. First off, I don't care about who Jessica Simpson is bangin'. Let's focus on the music or the movie or whatever it is the celebrity does. Why must we care so much about celebrities' private lives?

In this respect, Prince is way ahead of the curve.

That's the price of fame. If she can't deal with it, don't put yourself out there

i DO kind of agree with this. i believe the media should be held to higher standards of conduct, but i also think that in america's celebrity-crazed culture, you don't go strolling around town with baby in your arms if you're mega famous.

well, do we know that she was actually "strolling around" with her baby in her arms? or maybe she might have simply been moving from point a to point b? in any event, honestly, i think it's a bit harsh to suggest that a MOTHER shouldn't even have the OPTION to cradle her blood and flesh CHILD to her busom whether she's famous or not. the fact that we have so little priority and respect for children says more about US as a society than it does about some new celebrity mom....

now...that being said, i think the only mistake the poor girl made here was in her choiced of footwear. it looks like she's wearing wedgie sandals, and even i will admit that while very comfortable, it's kind of easy to trip unexpectedly while walking more than any other shoe (and being short, i'm a high heel shoe fanatic who knows... smile )

I agree with you 100%. I can't believe how uncivilized some can be in their attitudes toward children and new parents. It's kind of sad actually neutral. Where I live, people don't even use strollers, they use trams and baby buggies; they don't convert to strollers until the child begins to walk. And being in a society where subways and buses are the general mode of tranportion, people have baby buggies on board ALL the time. Trains and buses generally have an area where the seats flip up movie theatre style to accomadate the handicapped and parents with new children...it's works out fine and I've never seen anyone bothered in the least. Actually new parents get oodles of attention publically and someone's ALWAYS willing to help lift or hold something for them, because they sympathize with the fact that these people are tired and overwhelmed...

...though I've never cared for the whole Britney pop culture schtick, I still see the young woman as a human and a new mother. People should leave that girl and her baby alone already. She's not the first to have tripped with her baby in her arms and she won't be the last. Unfortunately for her, only because she's a celebrity will people scrutinize her to no end.

the first time he fell in his high chair, and this time she looks like she tripped...what in God's name is so abnormal about that (although the high chair incident possibly could have been prevented)?

Gosh...I have yet to know of a parent who doen't have the hysterically crying "my baby just fell and I'm such a horrible parent" episode at least once before their infant turns a year old. The girl is in her early 20's and discovering the road to parenting just like any other new mom, gee wiz neutral

yeah, fair enough.

i'm not into bashing Britney for the sake of it.

she's just a person like anyone else.. doing their thing...

i didn't realise those things you said...

it's just i read some humiliating humour articles about all this and thinking about it i think she deserves a fair go.

nod

i expect she'll be more careful in future; you're right it probably happens a bit to some new mums.

however, as alluded, she does drink a bit sometimes!

No it's the second, not even that. She used bad judgement in driving away with her baby in her lap in an effort to get away from the overbearing paparrazzi. And this time she tripped and there's nothing wrong with that. When her baby fell out the high chair it was the fault of an incompetent nanny. Britney wasn't even home and she fired the nanny immediately. The third time she allegedly was a bad mother she had her baby facing forward in the car seat and there's nothing wrong with that because he is over 20 lbs and under California law that's perfectly legal.

Those assholes need to leave her alone
