I grew up with different kind of music...80s music, Prince (of course) and heavy metal..
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Prince, Violent Femmes, Aerosmith, Cyndi Lauper, Michael Jackson and Madonna.
A pretty eclectic mix, but these were the sounds of my childhood. I still can't get any of them out of my head... (spelling, schmelling...) [This message was edited Sat Jul 20 17:02:38 PDT 2002 by endorphin74]

Artists I grew up with: My mother played all kinds (Sam Cooke, Little Richard, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Charlie Pride, Ray Charles, Janis Joplin, CCR, Tammy Wynette, Chopin) -- but in the early 80s I personally listened to lots of rock (Loverboy, Van Halen, Motley Crue, Quarterflash, Joan Jett, Divinyls, Queen), but mostly Billy Squier & Def Leppard until 1983 when I got hooked on Prince and the MPLS Sound. It's no wonder I liked Prince's music after growing up listening to a mixture of rock and rhythm-n-blues.

PEACE [This message was edited Sat Jul 20 21:50:52 PDT 2002 by aspera773] That's Dead or Alive... And don't be embarassed!! hee hee I love them too! As for me? I still love everything I did as a kid, for the most part. It was all Prince, Madonna, Michael Jackson, the Cure, Love and Rockets, Depeche Mode... and so on... Oops! Forgot a couple! Someone mentioned Buddy Holly. My dad was a big fan of him and also the Beatles. My dad plays the guitar and used to take it out occasionally when I was very young and my family would sit around singing Buddy Holly and early Beatles tunes all night. Still love them to this day! A pretty eclectic mix, but these were the sounds of my childhood. I still can't get any of them out of my head... This explains a lot. I believe there are special psychotherapists who can help you... or you could attach electrodes to your genitals and give yourself an electric shock every time one of these 'bad thoughts' comes into your head. The second option is probably cheaper and more effective. Good luck with that

mj-black and white maddy-oops. i didn't know we could talk about sex spice girls-wannabe blah blah quote] there was no prince when i was growing up. i didn't know he existed until i saw vh1 pop-up videos and one interview he did for them. otherwise, it would be prince who? the one who can't make hits? the one whom the public forgot? the one whose only controversial act was him changing into some symbol and was named the artist known formely known as. the one whose fight against the record company got him blacked and the one it took him so hard and long to fight against. the one who dressed like a girl and made songs like :if i was your girlfriend, and dolphin, and yet ppl. cannot accept mj singing bad when he grew up poor.
