new RADIOHEAD material so, we all know Radiohead is touring the UK right now, and there are tons of recordings of their new material floating around the internet.
Personally, I'm THRILLED that they resurrected "Nude", it sounds fantastic. "Videotape" is my other fave... It seems to sound alot like "Kid A"/"Amnesiac"-era material to me.... What do ya'll Radiohead fans think of it so far, if you've heard the new stuff?

are u referring to their floating live material?
or their studio.. cause far as i know, no studio is leaked.. due to the fact that most of it hasn't been fully recorded. expect that cd in '07

i think he's talking about the live material since i've seen
that on a few websites as well. i listened to videotape and, altho it reminds me of about 7 amnesiac/kid a era tracks, it just stole my heart right away. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Most of the HTTT live stuff that was floating around prior to that album sounded pretty much like it did when the studio versions were released... same w/ Kid A and Amnesiac, as I recall. But yeah, I wouldn't worry too much about missing out on the live stuff that's out there as of now. The sound quality on alot of it is pretty sucky. There is one version of Nude that is pristine, I'm not sure where it came from, but it almost sounds like a soundboard. I wonder if that entire show is floating around in that same quality...

Did you all like 2003's Hail To The Thief?
I was just talking with someone today who saw them 3 summers ago in Vancouver. Yet most people I talk to never bring up this album.

It's not the huge statement that "OK Computer" was, but I think "Hail" marked a bit of a return to the accessibility of "OK" and "The Bends" that had been missing from "Kid A/Amnesiac" while retaining some of the techno strides seen in those two releases. I felt like "Hail" was a best-of sort of offering. I liked it a lot -- it was melodic as all get-out, had memorable hooks. But, I've had my heart set on a 2006 release!

It's weird though, with as much as I LOVED it, I often forget it exists. When I'm in a Radiohead move, I got straight for all the others and skip right over HTTF. I should rectify that soon.

That is so funny, that is my favorite part of that album as well! I love HTTT... some incredible material on that album. It's not as powerful overall as OK computer, and it doesn't connect with me in the same way that Amnesiac does, but.... it's still a tremendously strong album.

15 Step is another great new song.
Essentially, Radiohead are fucking incredible. Sometimes I just don't understand how they manage to make such incredible and beautiful music. They, as a band, gell together like no other band I've seen or heard. I always thought that only solo artists given total control over their music could acheive that until I heard 'head.

And I'll double-co-sign! I thought HTTF did exactly what both of you are saying. Perhaps because there was no abrupt redirection in style explains why people don't refer to it as much. I think its an essential album.. but I, too, skip over this one.. and even when I attempt to listen.. I skip over prime material.. I think i expected too much from it.. considering it didn't step on new grounds, and that was what i was looking for in their music when it came out.. I believe the new one, does in fact, cover new grounds.. due to what i've heard.
