New Romantic casualties?

Hello all, another New Romantic question...

I've been searching around for an example of a NR tragedy - overdose, death from violent accident, etc...

Am about to make a broad sweeping statement to the effect that there are none!

Am I right?

Am drawing a complete blank... Seems like although some came close to death (Simon Le Bon w/ his boat, Boy George w/ his heroin, etc), none succummed.

Thoughts?

I'll have to look up the Simon LeBon boat story. Very very fuzzy memory.

A boating accident did of course end the life of Scott Smith of the legendary Loverboy...sort of kinda almost New Romantic, except with like leather pants and headbands and stuff

Apparently in 2000 the bass player was swept overboard by a 25 foot wave. His body was never found. When he was alive he played those ugly little Steinberger rectangle basses. Come on, it was 1982. The headbands. The leather pants. Loverboy was the shit.

Say what you will, those first 2 Loverboy records were badass! After that was of course 'Lovin' Every Minute Of It'....can we say "jump the shark"?
