You're welcome Kool .

So far , i found this info :

_____

In 1983 the documentary film "Breakin and Entering" showed the Breakdance/Music Scene in LA. Starring artists like Egyptian Lover, Ice T and Chris "the Glove" Taylor and with an outstanding soundtrack this dokumentary became legendary. Here is the story how we found the vinyl.

One upon a time back in 1985/86 we get our first tapes recorded from Bomatic, at this time he also gave us a copy of the Breakdance Gang (Breaking & Entering) documentary on VHS. "Look at this movie, you see Egypt & Glove scratchin and there is Ice T rappin Body Rock Lyrics in it. This are the craziest electro sounds I´ll ever heard."

Me & Astonish were not only watching this documentary, we eat it. But at the end of the cassette, there was nothing, no names, no titles, Bomatic and Schützeman deleated it all. So it was clear, something strange was going on there. This was another Battle of the Bayreuth Collectors.
The melody of the Breaking & Entering Main Theme did not get out of our head for years, we recorded it from VHS and we tried to play the theme on keyboard. I must admit we were addicted to these sounds.
Finally we got a new copy of the original movie and there it was - the whole tracklist, the producers and all infos we searched so long.
We saw the Glove & Egypt cuttin the vinyl live to the sounds. Ice T is rapping in effect.

We both thought there must be a vinyl from these Radio Crew sounds. But what is with Dupont? - you never see the wax in this movie with background sound of Dupont. We lost our minds in this mystery of the movie.
Awesome, Terrible, Unbeatable & Jamtastic Collectors Behaviour breaked out of us, we knew with this wax we were No. 1, equal if we have other records or not, for us this was the mom of all westcoast electro stuff.
If you got this on wax, you don´t need any other records. That´s what we thought.
So in 1994 we made a masterplan, we both finished school and began to work. We only got one target - L.A.!
In 1995 we did it. We arrived in L.A. at night, immediatly we checked out the yellow pages book in our hotel and there it was:
-Egyptian Empire Music-
Next Morning we gave speed to our rental car and followed the map till we arrived in Inglewood.
The Adress was direct at the corner in a real hood. The only Merchandise at the house said "Branda´s Hair & Nail Studio". Could we be right here? But then we saw a little Egyptian Empire Music sign in the window. We parked the car in the Back of the house and there it was - Egypt´s Pyramid.

( Egyptian Lover's studio ... LOL )

We were absolutly right here. We went out of the car to the streets of Inglewood, our heart runs 180 BPM as a real tall afroamerican man came to us asked what we want here. We told him what we want, for sure he thought we were totaly crazy, but we were right he was the man from Barber Shop and he cuts Egypts Hair.
So we ring the doorbell, it took a few moments and the Darryl opend the door:
”What you want ?”
”We are from Germany, we love Egpyt´s Music, we are looking for his first sounds!”
”No, really? You listen his music in Germany and this after almost 10 years?”
”Yes, he is the King of the Beats.”
”So come in.”
Darryl let us in and we went throught the hair & nail studio with all the females looking what we both want here. He take us upstairs and showed us John Brown (RIP) the General Manager of Egyptian Empire Music.
John was bout 60 years old and only said: "I can´t believe it, 2 white guys here in the hood, looking for Egypt"
They give us a lot promotional stuff T-Shirts, Cd´s, Wax. We asked for B&E but he never heard it and he said to us:"Ask Egypt Himself, I invite you to his Birthday Party in 2 Days, come at 7 PM o Clock"

6,15 PM we were there and HE was there. He said nothing, went back in his house and came out with a red label record.
"Hello, are you Egypt ?"
"Yes I am, you told John you are from germany and you are searching for this wax."

We were at his party, he got the wax, we were so happy, but the evening even will get better!
Helping Dennis the DJ to get the party started, we cared the Decks and Speakers from a little truck.
After 1 hour of playing Breaking & Entering 12", there was no Party Crowd arrive yet, Egypt went to us and did some mixing with Yes Yes Yes and we were pissing in our trousers.
Then the first guests arrived, the music was getting louder and Greg went to us and said
"Food and Beverages are over there, go and help yourself and this is Snake Puppy from L.A. Dream Team and at the Turntables is now Jammin Gemini"

Our trouser were just dried as we pissed again in it. We made pictures, drink Beer, eat Chicken Wings and Birthday Pyramid Cake. First Talking and Photo Session with Snake, then with Egypts Brother David and then with Gemini. As he signed several stuff to us and asked us how it is in Germany a small little man in blue shirt with Wreckin Crew necklace came over. We asked Jammin who he was and he said this is Grandmaster Lonz. Wet Pants again. The evening came to the end, Egypt and the posse was drunken and we went home
as lucky man. But we didn´t get the records, he only has a few copy´s and did not want to give this away until he find the others.
Back at home we shared this experience with Bomatic and Schützeman.
Now we put our force together, we got the adress, Bo was the mighty man on the phone. After monthes of phone calls and a lot of money tranferes a parcel arrived. Several Cd´s & Egyptian Empire Records in it and within also the Soundtrack of Breaking and Entering.

Because of the extreme rareness of this record, there popped up several reissues that are hard to detect. On the left you can see a nearly perfect example of it. So before you spend big money be sure it´s the original. Below there is a little difference we found after we compare the labels. As you can see the writing from the second title of the A Side label. is different. Also there is a stamp engraved in the runout groove which is not found on the reissue.

That is my story, this is the Cosmic Brother´s Story, this is Dr. of Jam´s, Tonic Tom´s & Jamtastic´s Story and this is the Bayreuth City Radio Crew Story!

100 MPH....thank you sooooo much, made my day ! That info is what I´d been looking for for almost twenty years ...

I was a HUGE westcoast hiphop fan back in the days...I even had the super rare first Ice-T record ever, produced by no other than Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis lol !

I had all the 12 ", everything, up until some burglars broke into my basement in 2003 while I was in England....you can´t imagine how shocked and devastated I was when I came back home...most of my cherished 80´s vinyl was gone.

Now this kind of info is so cool because it helps me to track down some stuff from that time, and it´s also just good memories.

( I´ll try to scan some Ice-T pics I shot in 1992 if I figure out how my scanner works and post them here later).

Thank you so so much for the links, you rock .

The Glove, pop locking, Radiotron, Ice-T, Egyptian Lover....man, I ´m getting all sentimental here.

Yes, the 12" was called The Coldest Rap, I´m sure you know it...b-side was Cold Wind Madness.Produced by Jam and Lewis in 1982....fuckers stole all my 12"s...it hurts me to think back.....it´s like a part of ny identity was stolen...anyway.....you mentioned Bayreuth.I´m in Germany too, so if there´s anything I can do for you just let me know, I still have tons of interesting stuff, maybe we can trade.

I´ll log out in a few seconds but will get back to you..

By the way, "Rappin" with Mario Van Peebles also features some Ice-T scenes ("Killers")..
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

So far , i found this info :

Thanks for the info on The Egyptian Lover. As far as rappers go, he is probably my absolute favorite. He's kind of like the "Prince" of rap. He makes a lot of original jams with those funky ass synths...some of them are even "Prince" sounding such as "Freak-A-Holic", "Filthy", or "Alezby Inn". When he does sample, it's usually just small snips of a song done in a creative way instead of being the entire background for the song. And BEST of all, he knows how to get uptempo, hard, and funky for the dance floor....fuck all that boring midtempo shit. lol

Ain't that a lil bit MID-TEMPO for your tastes??? razz

lol It's OK. I wouldn't call it one of my absolute favorite jams but it's OK. I didn't really start noticing or developing a strong hatred for midtempo stuff until it became ALL that was played on the radio.
