This has to be one of the greatest albums from the 80s... Really funky at times... I love "Broken". Just too short though!

The broken 12" is essentially a remix along with Head over Heels (the preacher mix). There is very little difference to the standard album version/Segue. Its the "re-visited" version which it the gem.

Its actually not re-visted at all, but the original version from the b-side 1983 re-release of Pale Shelter, called "We Are Broken". They simply added a reverse intro and called it "broken re-visited".

The double disc is worth it alone for the fabulous "Sea Song" and "Pharaohs" as well as the brilliant urban mix of "Everybody wants to rule the world".

They were having a crisis about electronic Vs real instruments. I think this album suffered because of the obsession with real instruments.

It didn't help that Roland had discovered the Beatles at this point and started changing the whole sound.

As a result, I rarely play it. I usually just play Woman in chains and the title track when they appear on a greatest hits.

My favourite album is "The Hurting", then "Big chair" not far behind. I also loved last years "Everybody loves a happy ending" album, even though the whole Beatles thing is still there a bit.

I know some people think Sowing the seeds is their best ablum, but it doesn't do it for me!

Is this the one with Head over Heels? I love that song in Donnie Darko.

All the songs are great! Head Over Heels, Everybody Wants To Rule The World, Shout, Mother's Talk, Broken, I Believe, The Working Hour...
