I always wondered that myself. They were a little too close.

The only Beethoven I want to hear is "A Fifth Of Beethoven" from the "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack.

courtney did a "24 hours of love" special on MTV2 a few years back, where she took over the station and did whatever she wanted for, yes, 24 hours. a whole day of ranting, unfortunate shots of ravaged body parts, surprisingly AMAZING choices in videos (say what you want about her, but she knows her rock music history), and a wacky line-up of special guests...including eve, who dropped in on hour 24 of the show to try to teach a fabulously sleep-deprived courtney love how to rap. courtney was more interested in blathering on about her relationship by that point, which made for some bizarre television entertainment.

LOADS of 'em. lots of punk, new wave, obscuro stuff from the early '80s...she went on a rant about how all these videos are corroding away in MTV's vaults and nobody is taking any trouble to preserve them, and that was one of the reasons she wanted to do the 24 hour show. she was also trying to teach kids about music, though it was in her own bizarro, muddled way. she sent a group of kids out to a tower records with 20 bucks each to pick out a CD, and she had them explain why they bought what they did. that was pretty cool, actually. when she wants, she can be kind of brilliant. unfortunately, she doesn't want all that often...
