Straight off the top 
The talented Katreese & Jerry Barnes ( bro & sis ) made a big impression on the 80's clubscene with this track . It's from their second album , which was again produced by native Brasil-US artist Eumir Deodato , who already made some remarks with productions for ConFunkShun , Kleeer , Kool & The Gang , etc . Juicy also delivered good vocal work on some of Deodato's own albums like Happy Hour ( 1982 ) and Motion ( 1984 ) . Their 1987-stepper "After Loving You" was a great follow-up to "Sugar Free". They continued to do studio-sessions for other artists . Katreese can be heard on some recent work of guitarist Hiram Bullock , and Jerry toured for some time with Chic . A great tribute which i experienced is that when Erykah Badu played " Back In The Day " in a live-concert , they changed the melody of the song suddenly to Juicy's " Sugar Free " . . . Same here, cause i was very surprised during the memorylane-segment of Badu's concert , hence when AZ used it too a few years before . And i still have 2 check that Brian McKnight's mix . When Erykah Badu performed "Back In The Day (Puff)" on the Dave Chappelle show, she ended it with a bit of "Sugar Free".
