Fake/suspicious/true info on the new Janet album - everything so far

This list will be updated as new info comes to light.

Just so we can all get it in one place:

FAKE/SUSPICIOUS

1. Khia (whoever the fuck that was) is on the album. Info removed from her site. Bullshit.

2. "The Glamorous Life" is being sampled in "Call On Me". First reported in a fake article ("Tokyo Star Magazine") posted to a fan message board, circulated and accepted as fact. Urbanbridgez adapted it for an article of their own, bullshitting that they had "confirmed" the information with Virgin. Despite this, they still used the same fake Jimmy Jam quotes in the original article. So, no.

3. "Tell Me If You Still Care" is being sampled in "Call On Me" (feat. Nelly).

Jermaine did an interview and confirmed that Nelly was on the album (but said nothing about the single). A few days later, this bullshit showed up on SOHH, a blog about as accurate as Urbanbridgez. The dude says he's heard the record - clearly not, as JD does not premiere stuff on blogs months prior to release. Also, it is highly likely she'll lead off the album with an uptempo single. Thus, more bullshit.

I will let you guys know when the "Purple Rain" sample rumour is circulated! lol

TRUE

1. There are 5 singles planned. The first is "Call On Me", which goes to radio June 19th. Nothing else known.

2. Nelly and Kanye West ARE featured on the album.

3. Album release date is September 26th.

I still don't like the idea of Nelly being involved on this project at all, it was hard enough swallowing Jermaine's involvement.

Anyways, i promise i won't judge till i listen, i just can't imagine myslef liking Nelly rapping over a Janet track though.

I don't mind Nelly. Their voices will blend well. I liked "Dilemma", and I'm sure this collabo will be something similar.

If it's a ballad like Dilemma it should good, but if it's like Hot in Here i won't be happy. mad

I am guessing a ballad. Nelly has one of the smoother voices in mainstream rap (only bested by LL Cool J's) that is tolerable on slower songs. I didn't like Hot In Herre, either.

Why do so many org folks drink up on the hate-o-rade when it comes to Janet? You can like MJ, Madonna, and Mariah and STILL like Janet...it's not mutually exclusive if you have taste (cept for Mariah of course nana)
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I hope the sucessfully sample Tell Me If U Still Care, and not make it some hodgepodge thing.

But with J&T in the works it should be fabulous, just fabulous.

Oh...and Nelly.....ugh...
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.
