My fav is "been so long" which had an awesome by Lazydog's in 2002.
Is her new album worth getting? I keep looking at it when i'm at the record store, but i keep hearing bad reviews.

Her "new" album? I think you mean the CD she released in 2004.I've heard a few tracks and it sounds okay.

I don't know, "okay" is actually an overstatement to me...sadly it just didn't grab me the way her earlier work did...I actually gave my copy away boxed..

I love this album but i didn't appreciate it until I heard her do some of the songs live like Watch Your Step and You Bring Me Joy. Now I have all her albums and Compositions is my favorite.

YES! I'm glad someone else appreciates Compositions. I love this album too.

Anita Baker is a great singer and I love this CD. I own her greatest hits CD and it's wonderful. Much love for Anita and Motown worship.

ThreadBare

Knew this super-gorgeous woman in Baltimore. Was trying to woo her. In one of our many phone conversations, she huffily admitted to not liking Anita Baker's singing.

I was like, "Note to self: This chick is crazy..."

Sure enough, months later when she and I were no longer an item, my buddy was like: "Yo, I saw her hop on the back of a moving pickup..."

I was like, "See? Crazy..."

Anita's the bomb.

I love her albums. "Rapture" came out when I was in middle school, I think. The D.C. go-go groups would cover her tunes, play up the breaks in such songs as "Been So Long."

Her voice is velvet!

David, I've seen you mention this loads of times and I trust your opinion - and I've seen how much love this album gets - so I bought it on sale a few months' back...

...but I wasn't too fussed. boxed In fact, I took it back. boxed

But, to be honest, I don't think I gave it much of a chance. I sort of skipped through thinking it would all be like 'Sweet Love' (which I like thumbs up!) and that was that. So maybe I should give it another chance. nod
