FOR HEAVEN'S SAKES
Name one producer that sounds like they did in the early 90s. If Riley and MJ work on a new record it ain't gonna sound anything like Guy, early 90s Bobby Brown, or 'She Drives Me Wild'. M.2.K

I know it sounds stereotypical to work with The Neptunes, but I think they would work well with MJ.Justin Timberlake wants to be MJ to this very day.The Neptunes/JT marriage was good one.I know a lot of people on the org hate on JT,but "Justified"is a great pop record. The Neptunes and Jive Records are having some issues so The Neptunes will not appear on JT's new album.Michael call The Neptunes!! larry luvlife

Totally agree!! MJ shouldn't even walk into a recording studio until he gets his life back together.Get some therapy, take those ugly wigs off, stop wearing all that ridiculous make-up and lipstick...start looking like a MAN! He's taken the androgyny thing a little too far, lol.

He's taken the androgyny thing a little too far, lol. I feel the same way. I don't know if I can bare another album/project with the same clothes, wigs and dance moves. But let's be real, there have been rumors and hopes of an MJ makeover for like the last 15 years and it's never really happened and I don't think it's going to happen now. He needs to finally evolve. All of his childhoods should be over by now. I don't want to hear about how the world has done him dirrty, and how he's innocent and the kids and the earth, nor do I want to hear a hee hee, a shamone, a doggonit ba-bay or some out of place NBA player or dead rapper making an appearance on this album. Oh who am I kidding. It's MJ. All of the above is bound to happen. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

simple solution, dont listen to the album when it comes out. i doubt he cares what you want, he makes music for his fans and your not one, so why should you care if he puts an album out or not? [Edited 5/17/06 3:07am]

I'm not sure whether this is good news or not really.
He did some great work on Dangerous and Blood but his contribution to Invincible was pretty hit and miss. Heaven Can Wait is a gorgeous record, but Don't Walk Away was piss-poor... I'd love to see him collaborate with Jam & Lewis again... otherwise an album by himself... I would hate to see him work with The Neptunes - it would just make him sound like countless other artists already out there. Still, anythings better than 50 Cent.

Jam & Lewis + Michael only made one great production. Scream. I didn't like the rest of their contribution to HIStory.
Teddy Riley is the way to go. Apart from Quincy Jones, no one understands Michael (musically) as well Riley does. Michael and Teddy just seem to gel everytime they work together. Remember The Time is possible one of the best songs... ever.

Remember The Time is possible one of the best songs... ever. I disagree. Remember The Time is a fun pop song but nothing spectacular. Jam & Lewis have worked on much of MJs best work... Is It Scary, History, Tabloid Junkie... he seems very passionate when he works with them. There's more passion in those few songs than the whole of Invincible.

Remember The Time is a great song, imo. Tabloid Junkie and History are, at best, average to my ears. I'll give you Is It Scary, tho'. That one's a gem. And I think Mike's vocal performance on Don't Walk Away is one of his best. Lovely song. I dig all the tracks TR did with MJ on Invincible. Yes, even 2000 Watts. So yeah, I'll take Teddy over Jam & Lewis anyday.

2000 Watts is so... N Sync. It makes me cringe a little. It sounds like a very desperate attempt to sound contemporary and to me, a bit contrived.
If he could do anything to the standard of Ghosts and In The Closet then I give Riley my full blessing. But to be honest, I don't really have faith that either of them are capable of coming up with something that good again...

Although I'd like to see MJ work with Q, Teddy Riley, Bill Bottrell (why doesn't anyone ever mention him?) or Jam & Lewis again, I'd really love to see him produce an album all by himself. No matter how long it might take.
Some of my favourite MJ songs are produced by Micheal himself: - Who Is It - Will You Be There - Stranger In Moscow - They Don't Care About Us - Speechless [Edited 5/17/06 7:24am] Life belongs to those who are alive

Out of curiosity, what songs has he done with Bill Bottrell?

I like Jam & Lewis but wasn’t really crazy about their work with MJ aside from maybe Is It Scary. Most of it was just noisy and over produced to me. Teddy does work very well with Michael. RTT and ITC are 2 of MJs better best songs however, the Invincible songs were shaky.
The album is slated for late 2007 which in Michael time means mid-2008 and that’s generous. It just seems like he’s reaching back into the past when he should or could be moving into the future with someone different altogether. It doesn’t have to be Neptunes but I’d like for him to work with someone else already. Or do it alone. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I appreciate I'm in the minority in liking this track. You just gotta turn the fucker up LOUD, man. Well, we'll see. I'm just pissed that everyone's writing him off before they've even heard a note.

Whoever he works with I hope he learns from the mistakes he made on Invincible. One, maybe two co-producers at the very most... I want something cohesive that sounds listenable from start to finish. A lot of the songs on Invincible are good in their own right but don't sit well together on an album.

And I agree that Bill and Mike have done some good work together. Bill also recorded and mixed most if not all of the Jackson's Victory album. Now there's something you'd want left off your CV. Nah, not really. It's not like he wrote or produced that garbage. Dude just had to pay dem billz, is all. Oh, and Guru Bruce Swedien was, of course, the engineer for the MJ produced tracks on Victory.
