There seems to be a mini-epidemic of that lately. I'm gonna try and stick as close to the thread subject as possible. Rock guitarists that play primarily in some kind of Rock format. (plus it'll help to keep my list to a manageable length) Being more of a Classic Rock guy, that's the genre where most of my favs are. Lead Guitar: Jimi Hendrix Jeff Beck Allan Holdsworth Greg Howe Jean-Paul Bourelly John McLaughlin Leslie West Carlos Santana Billy Gibbons Frank Zappa Adrian Belew Buzzy Feiten Mick Taylor Johnny Winter (early years) Randy California Peter Green Angus Young Neal Schon Rhythm: Chuck Berry Bo Diddley Prince Richie Havens Jim/Roger McQuinn Pete Townsend Dave Davies Keith Richards Ron Wood Jimmy Page Terry Kath Joe Walsh Walter Becker Jamie West-Oram Jeff "Skunk" Baxter Tom Johnston Patrick Simmonds Andy Summers Malcolm Young John Fogerty George Harrison Steven Stills Lindsey Buckingham tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Not sure why the original deleted... I'll try mine again... My favorite guitarists -- well I wouldn't call'em "Rock" guitarists per se, just 'cause I think all my favorites kinda ignore any boundaries anyway...but my favorites: Jimi Hendrix Eddie Hazel Ernie Isley Curtis Mayfield Jean Paul Bourelly Allan Holdsworth Jeff Beck Wayne Krantz Frank Zappa Carlos Santana Nile Rodgers Prince Jimi Hazel Lewis Taylor Adrian Belew Kurt Rosenwinkel Blackbyrd Mcknight Wayne Johnson Jef Lee Johnson Andy Summers David Ryan Harris the Audience Blackguitaristz(need a picture) Mike Hampton Michael Gregory (Jackson) Ronnie Drayton -(I need a picture ) Mark "Drac" Hicks (Slave)-[I need a picture ] Allen Cato - don't have a picture for him either, ) ... I've seen Vai mentioned in the context of him being a fan of Prince's playing. I dig Vai and Malmsteen. Vai more so. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I've seen Vai mentioned in the context of him being a fan of Prince's playing. I dig Vai and Malmsteen. Vai more so. I know next to nothing about Malmsteen's playing, but I came across this link a few days ago. He threatens a woman on a flight to Japan for spilling water on him. It's actually pretty hilarious.
