OBSESSED with Zhane "Hey Mr. DJ"

Seriously that song is my crack right now. I have two versions on my iPod. I listen probably 7 times a day if not more. I love the bass...anyone know who did the rap on here? Great for a Saturday night before going out and puffing on a doobie or sippin some Gin. Show some love for this track!!

On and on and oooo-ahh-oon (and on and on and on and)
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I love this song too. I compiled a 3-hour grab-bag of mp3s and gave it as a gift to someone with an iPod... I put "Hey Mr. DJ" on it mr.green

Ahhh, I love that old school Flava Unit/early 90s tri-state sound.

Makes me wish summer would come right now!

Very cool tune. One of my all time faves! Still just as fresh & funky today.I was 21 when this song hit the clubs & blew me away.Brings back many happy memories!
I`ve just dug the album out & it says the track was written by Kay Gee & produced by Naughty By Nature so i guess the rap was by one of them!
Also have you heard `Request Line` from their 2nd album `Saturday Nite`,- another awesome track. Also their version of `Shame` on the `A Low Down Dirty Shame` soundtrack is worth checking out.Get the single though for the mixes. They have copies to sell on e-bay as i`ve just looked.Happy grooving!!

Also would like to say to you that apart from Prince,Badu is my favourite artist.I`ve seen her live on 3 different tours & she is peerless. On the last tour she tore it up with her scratching, rapping, vocal range & stage diving!!

BADU 4EVER

man i am jealous!
i wasn't into her until WWU in 03 then went backward through her catalog...you saw the mama's gun tour?! man...what i would give to be front row at a show from that era. i hope she does sugarwater again this year and i cannot WAIT for her to headline another tour of her very own.

I LOVE that song. I can remember hearing that song all the time that summer in 93. I was preparing to go to high school and my cousins came from Florida to visit and this song was one of them songs that I would always groove to when it came on. I still dig this song a lot along with Groove Thang.

They don't make music like they used to. cry
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I love that song. I was in middle school back in 93 and I heard this song everywhere. I also like Groove Thang, Vibe, and You Sorry Now. I even like that song they did with Busta Rhymes called It's a party. Their second album Saturday Night is very tight too even though it didn't receieved the same recoginiztion as their first one.

While they was around I would heard the DJs misprounced their name. It's Ja-Nay not Zane. lol

Why do people always forget "Sending My Love"? The album's great, but that's the best song IMO.

Ooh... This reminds me of the Summer of 96. I don't think it was released that year but somebody made a mix-tape for me and this was on it. I played this endlessly.

You are so right and that is another good song. I was thinking about that song when I wrote my previous thread but the title didn't come to mind at the time. smile

Really enjoyed their first album. They got a little jazzy on Saturday Night and had covers of Good Times and For the Longest Time but Crush and My Word is Bond were favorites of mine.

Cool , CinCee thumbs up!
Those items i've linked are available as re-issues now .
Especially the 12-inch is worth to get , coz the original press goes for bigbucks @ Ebay sometimes .

The new lyrics over the original music were written by NBN and rhymed in the studio by Treach .
