I watched the movie, "The Preachers Wife" for the very first time this morning. Yeah, I'm late, I know but better late than never, right? I really enjoyed it and couldn't help but miss the Whitney Houston I saw on the screen. So I've started this thread with the hope that others will join me in looking beyond her past and her shortcomings enough to send some much needed positive energy her way.



Please help Whitney find the strength to help herself.

I think people have a hard time looking past her problems, you will probably get plenty of jokes on this thread.
Whitney Houston has had an amazing career, and her music has meant so much for a lot of people, let`s not forget that.

who gives a fuck is a celebrity wants to do drugs let them, do you pray for a normal person on the street who messed up there life doing drugs no, so why pray for a person who couldn't give a damn if you died yesterday.

well ther's some sad truth in there. i mean, not to say this is the case here, but sometimes when the media highlights a tragedy or a celebrity's hardships we take some kind of bizarre pity that we wouldn't normally take on any other day.

for example, there were so many ppl saying that they would adopt one of those 'poor children' who lost everything in the 2004 Tsunami. that made me so angry cuz those 'poor children' have always been poor. so why does it have to take a natural disaster to highlight the problem? and so why take pity on a celebrity when there are millions of ordinary ppl who are in the same predicament? sad but true.

but i know what the intent of this thread is for. i mean if this happened to Prince, i'd be the same way.

When people get that famous, and especially at such a young age, sometimes they lose contact with reality, people suck up to you, everybody tells you how wonderful you are, everybody is your "friend", but i think it can get very lonely. Of course, this doesn`t mean that you will end up doing drugs, but it may be the reason you start doing drugs. THAT`S what i meant with "advantages"...

In Whitney`s case, i think the main problem is that she has surrounded herself with people that has had a negative influence on her.

maybe she just wasn't what she claimed to be: a person of high personal values.

I'm not a person to believe tabliods BUT there was a blurb about her having a brain tumor. I'm ashamed to have even glanced at it, but I hope it ain't true. She got enough hurdles to get over & really needs to get over them already...

I can`t help but think of her family when i read crap like that, it must be very difficult for a mother to read in some magazine that her daughther has a tumor. I remember the Wendy Williams interview, she talked about the rumours and lies, and that it of course made her mother and family "sick". People tend to forget that they are real people, with feelings.
