LOL!! You can blame Prince and Mazerati for the crazy hair. The drummer (Michael Beard) and the trumbone player (Frank Thompson)are from here (Ohio). We always kid Mike about the hair...He said that it was managements idea and they fought like hell against it but they basically were told "you gotta look like "B*&%$" to make money now"....so what part of your hair do you want blond? At least it was 10 times cooler looking than some pop-acts in the commercial charts those days . I think they were one of the few funkacts putting blond coloring in their doo's . Their own style . And those fireworks in the beginning of Freakshow are blazin' . What makes it all good is that those jams just bumped . I bet it was even more thrilling when they played that stuff live . Vainandy can tell U all about it . . . . [Edited 5/13/06 5:17am]

Sorry, Panther but Prince's hair never looked like it was laying in wait for a chance to escape. Can't blame him for that one. Panther is right. Back in the 80's (especially post "Purple Rain") most R&B artists were told by their management to jump on that bandwagon to make that money and stay current. George was working with P and Rick James had Al B. Sure! writing some stuff for him.
