OK! FINE! I'LL ADMIT IT NOW! "MAMA'S GUN" IS BETTER THAN "BADUIZM" I'm listening to MG now and it IS better than her debut. Fine! More growth and feeling. Better vibe, better grit, better jazziness and her voice is better on this pffering than on baduizm.
There! I admitted it! Now, go fuck yourselves! Living to die and I'll die to live again - 360 degrees - comprehend

Mama's gun is funky as hell. But its not better than Baduizm. Its better than her last release, but not better than the first. IMHO.

I was just ipoding along yesterday, bopping along on my walk to the Giants game, and Didn't Cha Know came on (right after Let's Pretend We're Married" and just before some live Leela James -- my ipod is a GENIUS, I tell you!).
Anyway, I was just thinking how much I love that album. Time to put it back in rotation. __________________________________________

Mama's Gun is like Erykah's manifesto, muscially and lyrically... it never goes out of rotation for me. Right now I'm feeling the opening track "Penitentiary Philosophy" more than ever. But "Kiss Me on My Neck" is still my all time fave Badu jam.
I can't remember the last time I played "Baduizm" all the way through. No comparison. 1. MG 2. WWU 3. Live _____ 4. Baduizm I'll leave it alone babe...just be me
