The Rolling Stones' "Sticky Fingers"

worship BEST FUCKING RECORD EVER. I had never really been into the Stones (although I had respect for them just as I would any other legendary, influential rock 'n' roll band before my time) until I listened to a few key tracks on a friend's recommendation like "Paint It Black" and "Sympathy For The Devil" (a work of genius), and now that I've listened to this classic the whole way through, I can safely declare that I've seen the light at last. It's really a damn shame all my generation can say about these dudes is, "Oh.. they were okay." disbelief sigh

Fantastic stuff. Can't wait to actually buy this along with the rest of their peak-period classics (and maybe more). Show your appreciation here.

I like The Animals version of "Paint it Black" better. biggrin And Eric Burdon and War's "Paint it Black medley". drool

Anyway, I love Sticky Fingers. nod "Wild Horses" is one of the most beautiful songs of all-time IMO and "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" is just awesome. yay!

Pretty much a perfect album, IMO. Not a clunker on there, really.

Yup. I did a thread devoted to this album a couple weeks back.

It's their finest album without a doubt, in my opinion.

I have a doubt about that. There was a period of three albums that were just killer. Sticky Fingers, Beggars Banquet, and Exile on Main Street. One is no better then the other, they're all brilliant

I remember seeing that album in the stores back in the day. The album had plastic on it but I always wanted to unzip that zipper to see what was there. lol

Beggars Banquet is my fave but this runs it a close second. I love the fact that every song is killer. Give me great 10 track albums over patchy 15 track albums. Sway is my fave off the album. If youre checking out their other classic albums, you might be disappointed with Exile. IMO its a highly overrated album and a lot share this view. Even Jagger doesn't really understand why it's loved so much..oh and the production is poor too. I actually prefer Goat's Head Soup that came after..but thats another thread!

Yeah, yeah I know how you feel about Sway. biggrin But, I still can't feel it like you do. I listen to that moment, and I'm just like shrug yeah, it's ok and all, but not the greatest wail/moment in rock and roll. razz

Now Plant's wail in the middle of the Lemon Song.....now that's a different story. razz
