I'm going to listen to it first, because her last one was a POS! As long as there are no lame Cash Money rappers or hippity-hop, it could actually be good.

After listening to the track samples of this CD on Allmusic.com, I think it's going to be a great album and even better than La Dona was (not saying La Dona was a bad album ot anything). I mean, the album doesn't have any real hip-hop influence La Dona had. Still, she's trying to be hip and please a young audience, but there's nothing wrong with that. It sounds like any other album she's made before, just a little more modern. Can't wait till Tuesday!

"Make It Hot" has got to be the next single! This song is a jam

Okay,here's my review.I've listened to the CD a few times already and these are my thoughts....

***"Cruise Control" with Smokey Robinson really should have been the first single.It's a much better song than "Ooh Wee",which doesn't really move me that much (yet).

***Like the previous album,Sapphire is filled with mostly slow jams and midtempo songs,but "Make It Hot" is a great uptempo jam.I'm telling you guys,this must be single Number Two! It's reminiscent of those breezy early 80s jams that Teena used to do with ease.I like it!

***The jazzy "Somebody Just Like You" is another highlight.You gotta hear the sexy spoken part near the end! I like this one ALOT.

***"You Blow Me Away" is a stunning tribute to Rick James.I got kinda sad listening to this one.Teena begins the song by saying "You will always be my King and I will always be your Lady T".Very powerful,emotional tribute.

***"A.P.B" is a strong ballad that mesmerizes the listener.Lots of guitar on this track.Reminds me of an Isley Brothers track.Another potential single.Longtime fans will be playing this one over and over,it's reminscent of some of her finest slow jams.I think this is my favorite song on the album.


The only disappointing thing about this CD are the guest rappers that appear on a few tracks."Ladies Choice" is a tasty uptempo jam,but unfortunately,it's ruined by two annoying female rappers that pop in midway through.Likewise,"Simmer Down" features an unnecessary rap cameo.The CD is extremely long (16 tracks,most of which are at least 5 minutes long) and it lags a bit at the end.But the highlights are plentiful.

Listening online now. Love is a Gangsta is just embarrassing. She needs to stop with that mess. And does Cash Money not hire proofreaders? I'm guessing they're not all too concerned that the title Baby Who's Is It should be Baby, Whose Is it.

I haven't heard anything from the album yet. I might, and I mean might buy it if this song is worth a damn or for maybe the chance that there might be a good slow jam or two on the album.

However, everyone ought to not buy it and say "Either make some funk like you used to or starve".
