Cool. But basically there was no point to the vinyl remix EP then in terms of its exclusivity. confused

To make more money.

The video will be a montage from all her performances of the song on various shows (and festivals) and will feature clips of rehearsals.

"Jump" will be sent to clubs and radio at the end of the summer as the 4th single.
However, a commercial release is not yet planned.

And yes, the JLC mix is the same as on the remixed vinyl.

No.

I just don't like the idea of the video.

Or skimping on singles.

Or building up that vinyl remix EP as if it was something worth having. rolleyes

It's so strange that when she had a flop album on her hands the last time around, she promoted the hell out of it...Gap ads, VMA's, 5 singles, a remix EP, lots of in store appearances, tons of interviews, and later a tour documentary.

This time she had a hit album and all but disappeared in the U.S. after its release. I don't get it.

the album sold itself. no sense in pushing it when it already had great momentum and word of mouth. shit, it was even hot in the hipster circles! lol

american life needed her pushing...and at that it only sold half a million in the us.

I wouldn't say she promoted it a lot. I think the VMAs came so much after the fact and the "Gap" Ad was only sort of related to since that song was never featured on AL (might not have hurt to release the album with "Into The Hollywood Groove", even if it doesn't fit). I think there was a lot of stuff around that time, not a lot of true promotion. That being said, yes, she did push AL more than COADF.

If 'Jump' isn't a single, then I've lost all faith in Madonna. It screamed for the 2nd single release; I can't believe that she's not even going to make a proper video for her last 2 songs from the album.

I miss the days when Freddy was her manager.

This is so true. American Life just tanked, and no amount of promotion(VMAs, GAP ads) could save it.

With COADF, even though the only major promotion she did in the states were the videos, NYC club appearances and the odd talk shows, it still sold largely based on word of mouth. At least around me, alot of people got turned on to the album. Given that AL went gold with alot of promotion and COADF went platinum with limited promotion, that speaks volumes

Those promo only singles are expensive. It took me awhile before I could get the "Impressive Instant" 12" for a decent price.

Up til now the 3rd piece was the only reason to get it...and for 30 bucks I don't think it's worth it.

I bought it as I found it used. When I got home it had a crease dowwn the front, so I took it back and when I was to get another one to replace it, there were no used ones, and I thought better of it. Nice to have, but only for the hard core fan.

Becasue she HAD to get the other one to sell. This one sold on it's own. You know, I could tell Madonna was slipping, because we saw her everywhere! And she resorted to antics to try and sell AL...including a remix album

WHo says it's her decision? I would not blame the lack of singles on her. I am sure she would have liked more.

I think she's even decided to give GT the "let it will be" treatment.

Notice how all those things were very indirectly sort of promotions for AL and not blatant. After all that crap, only one video single came out in all that time and it was promoted very well.

If Madonna had any love for this album, she would push the hell out of it. Maybe, just maybe, her tour will actually help the album since the seperation is not that far apart. I was kind of surprised to see an actual commiercal for the album today that showed clips from "Sorry" and "Hung Up". Maybe she will do some shows here and there to push the album...radio promotion? Could you imagine if she did....Howard Stern's show?
