Thanks for posting KrazyKid! Someone called me yesterday and was trying to tell me about it but before they could tell me what show he was on, their cellphone dropped the call. By the time they called back it was over. I lmao because it remimded me of those "dropped call" commercials.
Anyhoo, thanks again! You rock!!

I could only watch a minute of it. He can't sing anymore, but he did look better than the pics I've seen recently.

Doesn`t it make you appreciate Prince one bit more if that`s possible haha!

Folks trip on Bobby, acting like he wasn't *the* solo performer in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Sure, drugs have taken their toll. But there's no denying Bobby's stage presence and talent. Folks like that woman on Tyra's show dig him for a reason.

I didnt want to say this but he did surpass Prince,in musical relevance and made Prince basically copy the My Prerogative song with New Power Generation, and Prince did jack the whole dark blue club scene for the video. But Bobby Brown never was vocally the best, it is all about his performance on stage, and his voice being rough and him always screaming his vocals that made up the whole package

Yeah, the other day at work, I gave Don't Be Cruel a listen...great fucken album. Everything is on point - from the melodies, to the arrangements to Brown's vocals - I got a kick out of how well it was written and executed.

Yeah he did!! I saw him live at a Cincinatti Riverfront show and I didn't really are for him at all until then. His stage presence surprised the heck out of me.

I didn't watch the performance, started fast forwarding through the entire show once they introduced his family (I just can't deal w/ a person named "LaPrincia" - it ain't her fault, but DAMN! )... I did catch him trying like hell to unbutton his jacket (or was that a vest? ) during the performance but I kept going... right on to Oprah

i remember him having one huge album and then falling off the face of the earth after that....to say he was "the" anything would mean that we would have to say Paula Abdul and Tiffany were "the" solo performers of their time... right? Space for sale...

He had a couple hits after his first album, but you're not wrong, imo.

His stage presence surprised the heck out of me. so what he do u gotta describe it more for people like me who never seen him in concert in his prime I'm not much of a BB fan, so I think I'm looking at this with some objectivity: Simply put, BB had energy and momentum. He was known for giving great, energetic shows; having well-choreographed, slick videos; staging wild, sometimes law-breaking, sexual antics; killer production when LaFace was really hitting its stride; and string of hits (originals, remixes and live versions) that dominated the r&b and pop charts. He also had a knack for turning up on soundtracks (even his "Ghostbusters 2" contribution was a hit -- and he had a cameo in the film). If you take a look at the "best of" New Edition compilation that came out years ago, you see a LOT of his hits. And, then he married Whitney... And the tabloids have loved him ever since (of course, he's given them a lot to love). But, even when he performed at the BET Awards recently or the Grammy Awards a few years ago, his ability to connect with a crowd was undeniable. Even I had to admit it.

I couldn't believe it, and kept telling the people that were with me that I wanted to leave before Bobby performed. However, I was convinced to stay, mostly because I wasn't the one driving so I was stuck. But when he came out and performed I was quite surprised. He danced and sang up a storm. He had dancers, a band and at the end when he performed one of his slows songs (can't remember which, as this was in 93 or 94 , at least I think that's when it was. Dates tend to escape me. ) Anyhoo, he had a fireworks show over the stadium that was timed to his song. It was really a nice show, and I left feeling really pleased that I was forced to give him a chance to show me what he could do, and that he really had alot of potential. Now, did I leave feeling he was the King of R&B? Hell to the naw!!! [Edited 5/10/06 7:33am]

What's wrong with y'all? That was not a good performance! Especially when they layered his rusty, crack-dusted old man voice with the younger, better sounding pot laced Bobby voice. And who put together that medley? Little Antoine around the corner, down the street? That was awful, no sequencing whatsoever. Just enjoy your little VHS copy of the Every Little Step video and pretend that he's still wearing red socks and suspenders. He was hot for about a year and a half, now he looks like Cedric the Entertainer drunk at a family reunion.

Nope, it wasn't a good one. But, he asked about BB in his prime.

Prince is what 25 years older than Bobby, and he really puts him to shame. And where would bobby be without LaFace and Teddy Riley? ______________________________________________

His King Of Stage-debut had some strong cuts produced by Larry Blackmon and Robert Brookins .
I had a sort of deja-vu when i saw his video of "My Perogative" for the first time ... the stage set-up reminded me of the atmosphere in Cameo-shows . http://www.youtube.com/wa...irl%20next . . . [Edited 5/10/06 12:22pm]
