Will MJ ever make a genuine comeback? Personally, I don't think it will ever happen . I mean I'm not a huge fan, but I do think that he and his brothers have made historical contributions to music . Unfortunately, I think that there has been so much damage done to him personally by the media-that it's bsically over for MJ. Really sad . What do you think? Will he recover?

He can become an underground independent artist recording music in his own studio apartment in the suburbs! All he needs is a PC, a MIDI keyboard and a bunch of cracked software and he'll be on his way to cult stardom!

I think this would work if he didn't use his real name.

Mike's just about done. Stick a fork in him. No one cares about his music anymore except his strange fanatical followers. He's no longer relevant in the music world. He's a walking freak show. His image is trashed forever. Living to die and I'll die to live again - 360 degrees - comprehend

He still has alot more to offer the music world. Whether or not he makes a commercial come back is irrelevant to me. As long as he makes good music, I'll be interested and there are still a lot of people in the world who don't give a shit about what the media thinks and are still interested in hearing new Michael Jackson music.

Seriously that is the funniest thing I've heard in aloooong time. The artist with the biggest selling album will ALWAYS be relevant in the music world. Michael Jackson is in a class of like The Beatles and Elvis. He is a LEGEND. You can't deny all he has done, and that alone will make him ALWAYS relevant. Now beyond your obviously either sarcastic or downright silly remark, I think Michael's "comeback" album happened in 2001. It was called, Invincible. While I know Michael will probably release another album in 2007, unless he pulls a Santana and shocks everyone with a FANTASTIC album with awesome content (Dangerous or Off The Wall FANTASTIC) it won't matter much. Radio won't play it much beyond the first few weeks because of the shitty mess that became 2005 for him. It is sad because, Michael could sing the phonebook and it would be better than 90 percent of the shitty music played on radio these days. Songs like "Billie Jean" and "Beat It" will seal Michael's place on the radio forever. However, they probably won't do enough to seal a "comeback" album getting the same long-term play. (Unless the album is FANTASTIC!!!!) I mean seriously, when is the last time anyone heard "You Rock My World" or "Butterflies" on the radio? (And I dig Invincible - I'm not knocking the album just asking.) Heck, even "Black Or White?" I think beyond "Billie Jean" and "Beat It" and perhaps "Man In The Mirror" radio just isn't supportive of Michael's music (at least here in USA) anymore. (Notice: That doesn't mean he isn't relevent, because heck without MJ you would not have Justin Timberlake, Usher, Omarion etc.) However, radio has sucked ass for alooooong time - so what else is new? Personally, I'd rather see Michael release an album and have it be huge. Can it happen? Maybe. Will it happen? It all depends on the content. (Call The Neptunes Mike!!!!) Michael has the talent, no doubt about it. He just needs the right people behind the production. (Either he should go all out and do it himself or have The Neptunes do it. Heck, even give Q a call, I doubt he is doing anything besides working on Vibe Magazine these days.) However, I think Michael just needs to relax and enjoy his life right now. Maybe when his spirit and soul recover from the negative shit that happened to his life these past few years, he will be recharged and ready to do music again. I say, Michael needs to do whatever makes him happy right now, and hopefully great songs and a "comeback" will follow. Only time will tell. [Edited 5/6/06 23:49pm]

Its not really about being relavent in the music world, its really the matter of trying to be relavent. MJ made one big mistake in his career, That mistake was thinking he was "invincible" He's trying to be the "King of pop" when he lost that title years ago... ive said this many times... But What mj needs is to stop living like an egotisticle popstar and go back to his roots. It shouldn't be about making hits anymore, it should be about making music he likes. he cares too much about what the fans or the critics like... fuck the fans and the critics! just play the music this will never happen Mikes surrounded by sycophants... mike needs to get grounded, back to earth but he cares way too much about what people think bout him... Mikes surrounded by sycophants..... OK..I'll bite, I didn't know what that word meant. So I looked at RhymeZone.com and it said: Definitions of sycophant: noun: a person who tries to please someone in order to gain a personal advantage So my question to you is, What advantage are the people around him trying to gain..? :crotchgrab: :backpedal: :touch fedora: :shamon: :repeat ad naseum: What a fantastic idea! He can put them into a sampler and make clicks'n'cuts IDM with them! Actually I would love to hear Jackson do a whole beatboxing record (cause let's face it, he's one of the best in the world in that), maybe with some drum machines and sparse singing.

I dig his music, mainly the stuff he did in the seventies as a 'Jackson' brother, not as the 'King Of Pop'. whatever the fuck that's supposed to mean. P.s. I followed the trial closely, it was a joke beginning to end.

Like the Beatles Never, they have changed Music history, not only commercial Pop music, for ever and influenced a generation, socially, politically... the "kop" will be remembered mostly for his dance moves, Billie Jean, the Thriller video and his strange behaviors, the cute boy that he once was .
Michael Jackson has also influenced a generation socially, culturally, etc... so I don't see the difference with Beatles. Unlike the Beatles, Michael impacted the life of people of every color, greed and backgrounds while the Beatles mainly impacted white young people.

Michael will be fine. He's still very talented. Anyone who's heard "We've Had Enough" knows he can still get it done. When a multi-platinum album like Invincible is considered a flop, you know expectations are ridiculously high. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

He may not be relevant anymore, but he sure is divisive Threads like this bring out the peeps that can't stand his guts and those who thinks he is "King of Pop". Not many other artists can bring out such extreme emotions in people... [Edited 5/7/06 5:02am]
