Roth Radio - Is it still on?

I know I'll probably get panned for this but I love Roth Radio. I think David's show is great. Is it still on? Does anyone know? I heard some rumors/whispers on the internet that it was gonna be canned soon. Anyone got the skinny..? hmmm

Nah, He got fired. Stern talked about it on his show and some Howard Stern reporter interviewed him. He said he would be interested in moving to Sirius, so you never know. Stern said they never really gave Roth a chance and they were always messing with him behind the scenes.

Haven't seen ya in awhile! smile

Man sad That sucks... I hope he does go on Sirius. Yeah, Dave may have not been the best DJ on the planet but I really felt for him. He said the stuff the average Joe would have said, I thought and that made him awesome. Plus, come on he is David Lee Roth!!!!

oh yeah and u2prnce - how you been? you like the chili peppers? any new music you are looking forward to..?

I actually do like the Chili Peppers, although I don't like Anthony Kiedis that much lol If they just did instrumentals they would be one of my top favorite groups. smile

I just got a Susanna Hoffs and Matthew Sweet album from Itunes. It's called Under the Covers Vol. 1. All covers of 60s/70s songs. Very good & their voices go really well together. Sweet was in the Thorns, which was a pretty good harmony group.

Yeah, and that's a really werid replacement.

It was obiviously a move meant to piss off Howard but it seems like he really doesn't give a shit about them (which they must hate, becuase they are obessed with him from what I heard). Plus, after Howard left, they (Viacom/CBS radio) call all those former Howard stations Free FM! Yeah, O&A's show is free for the first few hours, then it's an XM only show. I have no idea who that is supposed to work, with commericals and all (the breaks for tradational radio are much longer...then again I only have Sirius, so maybe it's just their breaks) but it makes no sense since they are suing Howard for advertising Sirius, which they approved of!

BTW, Roth is the one who got fucked the worst and became the scapegoat for their total failure (the other replacements aren't doing well....in fact, probably worse than Roth was!).

Any chance Roth might do what Howard is doing now?

What do you mean? Maybe he will get a gig on Sirius or XM but not to the same extent. Howard showed no interest in hiring him (although he feels badly for him) and Robin is often downright upset/angry when she talks about Roth. I don't doubt that Sirius might hire him for the grab bag of radio "personalities" station, Sirius Stars, though.

I just read that Whoopi is going to have a morning show but it's going to be on...Clear Channel? Whoopi and Clear Channel? Sell out!

Whoopi's show sounds like a nightmare. USA Today has an article today about it and she said she would talk about things like 'who has the best hot dog'. neutral I don't know how she keeps getting jobs.

What was her big claim to fame?
The movie with Ted Danson?

Apparently, Sam Kinison liked to say that everyone in show business got together and agreed not to hurt her feelings by telling her she didn't have any talent. Stern tells this anectdote all the time. lol

I guess Sister Act is her biggest hit. I don't really know how she was a celebrity before that. She did a one woman show I think. Basically, she was friends with other people who were more talented like Billy Crystal and Robin Williams. They all did Comic Relief every year.

She was great in "The Color Purple"...then....I think she used to be an edgy performer but she went on to make a whole lot of medicore comedies through the eighties and ninities, with the occassional great role popping up ("Ghosts" and "Sister Act"...and that was about it). I remember that she starred in three movies in 1996. "Eddie", "The Associate" and "Bogus"...each one was a bigger bomb than the next! I think after that, Hollywood woke up and realized she can't put asses in the seats. She's really tried everthing (she had a sitcom, which was OK and I think she had a talk show that tanked). This could work....but most likely won't. I think if a female star on the radio will be born, it will happen on satellite.
