Starting a sentimental thread here

Which song has made you cry in the past? Maybe because the lyrics touched you on a personal level, or because of the beauty of the song itselve, you name it.

Music can sometimes give me shivers, make me feel happy or sad, or make my eyes wet, but the only time i really cried was when listening to Nightswimming by REM a years ago.

The lyrics are about the loss of youth, realisizing youre getting older and that some experiences are laying behind you. Its a very tender, wistfull lyric dealing with nostalgic memories. The music of the song is sheer beautifull (only piano, vocals and strings).

I listened to this song when i was on a breakingpoint in my life and somehow the lyrics did resonate very deeply with my personal situation. I cried troughout the whole song, a very intense experience. Somehow that was just the 'right' song at the 'right' moment.

I am curious, you have had experiences like that: songs that really made you cry?

"Fix You"-by Coldplay (I heard it first after finding out my man had to go on a long ass trip 10,000 miles away from home )...the funny part is that he giggled at my hypersensitivity & made me feel better about the trip in the end...he was like "Sweetie, of all songs out there, you really don't need to pick this one to freak out with "
