"Slide" must of scared the "6 strings" outta P-Funk's guitarists
when they heard that shit ! And, GEORGE was probably ready to hire those kids.

Exactly. I've said on here multiple times that the Slide solo was the blueprint to P's solo on Get It Up. But yeah, Drac had an edge in his playing that Mike Hampton didn't have.

nod that guitar solo is fierce!

Ndeed!! Another thing I liked about this group is that they had such a raw funk sound at at a time when many other funk groups were becoming more slick and disco-fied....

Yep. They just stayed true to who they were, regardless of what else is going on around them. Which is what true artistry is.

Most definately. Go find yourself the "Stone Jam" album and pick it up. That one's great from start to finish.

True, but wouldn't you say that "Just A Touch Of Love" is slightly disco-sounding? wink

mmm--slightly..but it sure ain't "Boogie Wonderland" disco (no offense to EWF--I still like that stuff, too) I think that Mark's Bass, and Steve Arrington, Curt Jones and Starlena Young's vocals keep it from being too slick...
