Saint Etienne - "Stars Above Us" I already thought this was the best song on Saint Etienne's latest album 'Tales From Turnpike House', but the remixes take it over the top. Listening to them today had me dancing around my living room. It was already a top 10 U.S. dance hit last month so fans of dance music and St. Etienne should give them a listen. Available commercially.

This is an ace dance song, indeed. Been spinning this for a few months now.
Featured it in a sub-post of The Dancefloor Report :: .../ May 2006. Their latest LP "Tales From Turnpike House" is semi-decent, but "Stars Above Us" is the definite standout from the entire disc, so much so, that I recommend people check out the Dance Remixes, Vol. 1 EP that you rightly listed instead of their studio disc. Plus, the Eric Kupper and Jeff Barringer extended mixes are much worth it.

Saint Etienne have their songs remixed a lot, but they ususally are more electronica-sounding (like on the 'Casino Classics' compilation: http://www.amazon.com/exe...ce&s=music ). The "Stars Above Us" mixes are the first in awhile that aimed for mainstream clubs.
