Well so far i have heard 7 tracks from this woman, and trust me im not a Paris fan BUT i have to admit the tracks are mostly all good. I downloaded a bunch of them and then they got onto my ipod, and one day i heard the song she did called "Jealousy" and i thought it was a Jewel track, by not looking at it. So obviously its easy to hate on Paris because she is famous for really Nothing, but so is 90 percent of this generations stars, i mean come one, look at the likes of everyone MTV pushes, people like this Cheyenne chick, or the ashlee simpson show, why did she have a show when no one ever knew her. So this is not really a defense of Paris its more of a rip on this overproduced generation where everyone sounds the same, so if your going to rip on Paris, just remember the tracks she has done so far could easily have been done by Gwen, Britney or anyone else, so as i have said before, the days of the artist are over, its all about production now, everyone has to sound the same. you never would catch that in the 80's or 70's.

I just heard a new song of hers, which the name has slipped from my head. It had a reggae feel to it. Though I wasnt completely sold on it, it wasnt as horrible as I expected. I will give her credit for following the Gwen route and not making some cliche hiphop song that sounds like everything else.

The cons? She's not a great singer. It's passable I guess, but her voice still isnt up to par. Im guessing studio technology helped her a little. And I think that Paris is going to have a hard time leaving her image as a spoiled trust fund baby party girl who happens to have a sex tape out. a

Overall, I really hope, for her sake, that the end result of the album is good. Even then, while she could certainly reach Gwen status, she wont reach Madonna's level of pop stardom. But judging by the song, I doubt the album will be a complete turd fest.

I can't believe you're even debating stuff like this. It's shite - plain and simple. In fact, it's a blonde-haired, throwaway definition of everything that is so shocking about 'music' today. The ultimate kick in the teeth to all the real musicians out there trying to make it. All this Paris, Britney, Jessica Simpson - and 90% of everything else you hear on MTV - should just be flushed. Not even worth arguing over.

People this is what i was trying to say in the post. We praise people like GWEN etc.. and yet i can listen to a Paris Hilton song and not know its Paris and think it was Jewel or Gwen, thats what im talking about. Im not debating Paris's place in the Music world, because i know what is going to happen already. Mtv will have a big Making the Video, the album will sell about 500,000 to a million, shell get airplay because well she sounds like everyone else thanks to the "producer generation" and of course she will get video play because she is Paris and when she makes a move everyone is their to show it, and of course their will be something in her life going on or a feud of some sort to stir up some sales "typical Promo" bullshit. Thats what im trying to get across here.Of course this is a kick in the teeth to artists and musicians, but thats been going on for about 15 years now. The artists i listen to are the ones i grew up on, maybe some will call them has beens but they continue to release their music play the shows regardless of press, charts, or airplay, and that my friends is the TRUE definition of an artist, someone that will go out there and do it for nothing whether 1 person is watching or thousands are.

See I would give Paris a chance but I saw her sing on TV during a live appearance....It wasn't good for the drunken karoake that it was (although this was billed as her first live performance of her then new single). They really must have worked on her vocals!

i've heard a handful of trax too and while none are BAD, none of them are really that good either. i agree they could be interchangable with some of today's 'vocalists', but in Paris's case, her image is one that is so full of herself and proud of her own stupidity. imo, she's completely unlikable. even in lindsay lohan's case, while her music kinda sucks, she has at least paid her dues and is building on some sort of foundation. paris just was born, is pretty and has money...and NO sense of humility.
