Thanks Double-C :manhug:
Unless he's changed his set list, the only thing you'll get from The Flat Earth is Hyperactive! (built from the ground up onstage) Be sure and report back. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. I just got back from the Thomas Dolby show at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA. It was an awesome show!! Thomas looked and sounded absolutely fantastic. His voice sounded incredibly strong, and he looked very young and in shape. He was on stage with an incredible setup of synths & keyboards, and there was also a large screen that showed very cool visuals for the different songs. The place was nearly full - I don't think it was a 100% sell-out, but it was close. Not bad for a guy who only had one Top 40 hit in America, 23 years ago. The audience was very knowledgeable... they clapped for and recognized some of the more obscure songs he played. The songs were retro in feel but also had a more modern slant to them. Everything really sounded fantastic. He also talked between songs, and told little stories about most of them.
I wrote the setlist on a napkin 1. Leipzig 2. One of our Submarines 3. I Live in a Suitcase 4. Flying North 5. The Flat Earth 6. Budapest by Blimp 7. Windpower 8. Europa and the Pirate Twins 9. Hyperactive! 10. She Blinded Me with Science Encore: Airhead It was a great show!! Thomas Dolby really impressed me with his playing, and with his discussion of the different technologies he was using. He seemed to be having a really good time onstage, and the audience certainly had a good time from what I could tell. He promised a new album later this year, and another tour. I can't wait! I will definitely see him again. | |
