The War Thread

This was a very interesting and versatile funk group back in the 70's. There hasn't been much discussion about them here in orgville. They merged funk with latin, blues and reggae. My pops, back in the day, used to keep some War playing around the crib. I used to love to hear Lee Oskar blow that harmonica on a lot of those tunes. They had a unique sound. "Slippin Into Darkness" is a funk/soul classic
with strong Sly And The Family Stone references. The song also has strong drug references.

I also like stuff they did in the 80's like "Outlaw", the title song from their 1982 album OUTLAW. I love that song(used to love that video) as well. They were some interesting musicians. Let's give props to this great band.

I never heard any War. Is this a group or a song? I heard "The War" and that is real. I also heard "Peace" that's what we're here for, and not to war. Then I heard "Manowar." But just war? No. Your gonna have to fight your own #$%@ war cause we don't want to fight no more.
