Public Enemy show love to Prince...

In linernotes for new album "Revolverlution":

"Inspirational respect 2: Prince (The Rainbow Children is blazin son!), NPG, Kirk Johnson, George 'Dr.Funkenstein' Clinton & P-Funk Allstars, Hon.Min.Louis Farrakhan, NOI, Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr."

They also refer to their followers as "Fams". wink

Yeah, but they effectively cancelled that out by giving props to Kirk Johnson.wink

Essence, have you heard this album?

Could be, but then Chuck D. worked on the Rave album and so did Kirk, so I figure...

they have been down with Prince for Years.I Remember back in 91 on there Album Credits they were Wishing TC Ellis the Best with doing His thing.they always acknowledged Past&Future Acts in the Liner Notes.Missed those Days when Shout Outs were truly as cool as the Music.

Yeah Kirk's mentioned in good company huh? smile

I transcribed it from liner notes, the album came out Monday. It's 21 tracks, 74 minutes long and made up of new material, live tracks and remixes (Winners of competition on PE's website). It's first part of a trilogy of albums over the next two years and seen by Chuck as revolutionary new concept in maintaining a veteran career. It's pretty good first two listens, the single "Give The Peeps What They Need" being a highlight. As is the anti-President rant "Son Of A Bush". Makes George Michael's social comment seem very mild.

Let's hope that it's not ill-fated like De La Soul's "Art Official Intelligence" series which never made a part three for one reason or another...

Good to hear. There is no other hip hop group I used to love more than Public Enemy. I dislike what commercial hip hop has become by and large these days. I knew it was being released, but I forgot this was the week. And I haven't been to PE's site in a long time. Thanks for the info.

PE is the greatest rap band ever. Rap died when they faded.

Saw Chuck do "Fight the Power" with Prince at an aftershow in Atlanta and still get goosebumps remembering watching those 2 legends perform together. i almopst shit when the cutain parted and I was tpping my friend on the shoulder and pointing "That's CHUCK D., MAN! LOOK!"

A few months later during the Hit N' Run tour, I met Chuck in the lobby and got to shake his hand and talk to him a little. Super cool, laid back guy.

Love PE. Is the new disc any good?
