I have their album with "Take Your Time (Do It Right)" and "S.O.S.". Those are really the only two songs I like on the album so I didn't buy any more of their future albums. I strictly stuck to their 45s and 12 Inches. They do have a lot of great songs though. My favorites are:

Take Your Time (Do It Right)
S.O.S. (Dit, Dit, Dit, Dat, Dat, Dat, Dit, Dit, Dit)
High Hopes
Just Be Good To Me
Just The Way You Like It
Tell Me If You Still Care
For Your Love
Weekend Girl
Sands Of Time

They do have a greatest hits compilation that you might want to check out.

I love lots of slow songs. Just hardly any after 1985.

Have you heard "No Lies"? It's one of the few (only?) uptempo songs that Jam & Lewis did for them. The 12" version even has a break which samples (more like recreates I guess) the guitar from "Take Your Time (Do It Right)".

I haven't heard that one. I know they have some great dub versions on their 12 Inches, "Just Be Good To Me" and "Just The Way You Like It". I also remember hearing a really good dub version of "For Your Love" on the radio back in the day but I could never find the 12 Inch.

The female lead singer also had a pretty good solo jam in either 1988 or 1989. I can't remember the name of it though.

This is a great band if you´re into that 80´s Mpls sound. Their albums produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis contain lots of elements that you´re already familiar with from certain Prince or Time songs.

I´m still looking for their "Just the Way You Like It" LP....have the 12" but the album contains "No One´s Gonna Love You"....Maxwell´s 12" version of Ascension was based on it.

Great group....

I have their first two albums on CD.Both were remastered several years ago.I'd like to find their third album (released in 1982) with the hit "High Hopes".That's my favorite song by them.

back in the days they were the best act in the Jam & Lewis artist roster, above Janet and Alex O'Neal... their streak of albums in this era was absolutely amazing. Essential! get all of them if you can and start with Sands Of Time .. when it was released I was blown away, it offered everything to be expected and more... probably the best Jam&Lewis album ever

also most of their other non J&L albums are well worth checking out for a couple of songs here and there... I have all on vinyl only, my only SOS CD is the compilation "In One Go", a pretty cool non stop mix of some of their best tracks
