Janet's new samples Shiela E's "Glamorous Life." Janet Jackson's newest single is going to be released in late May, producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis say. "We wanted to make this single a hot beat for the summer enduring a lasting impression." The new single is sampling a classic hit, Shiela E's "Glamorous Life." " We just added some high bass and tough beats which makes this a single that's going to impact hip hop's style," says Jermaine Dupri, the executive producer of the album. Janet's album will follow through late summer and early fall. The album is to feature one surprise guest and will include 20 brand new tracks. Janet's last album "Damita Jo" debuted at #2 on Billboard Charts and has sold 985,000 copies according to Nielsen Scan.

Man I really dug Velvet Rope,Janet,1814 this and that but more so I'm a fan of Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis. If they are involved on a good portion of the album, I think it will be good. If her boyfriend has the upper hand creatively, well...
Empty from Velvet was one of the most musically forward thinking things Janet has ever done. She's done others, but that was pretty much one of the last. IMO. I'd like to see her "experiment" more.Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis did that at times. Unfortunately, I don't think that will be the case this time out. Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

This could be awful. JD's influence is getting to be a bit too much...Not good.

I wouldn't be surprised if JD laced her with a big-ass minneapolis sample like that though.

THE ARTICLE IS FAKE, AND HAS BEEN TROLLING AROUND JANET BOARDS FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS. IT WAS ORIGINALLY CREDITED TO "TOKYO STARS MAGAZINE" (EVEN THOUGH IT IS WRITTEN IN THE FORMAT OF A BILLBOARD PIECE), WHICH DOES NOT EVEN EXIST. THE COMMENTS IN THIS ARTICLE WERE NEVER MADE BY JIMMY & TERRY OR ANY OTHER PRODUCER. THUS FAR WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT JANET'S NEW SINGLE. SO LET'S ALL DO OUR PART & STOP POSTING FAKE SHIT!. She is also doing a cover of Debbie Deb's song WEEKEND. Janet's version is awful. I'm sorry.

Ok, now I try not to provide criticism when it comes to songwritting and producing. Because as "artists & "producers" we all choose to express ourselves in different ways. That is what makes us "unique" At one point Jimmy and Terry led the pack. Now it's seems that they're now following suit. I've studied a lot of their material and I'm sorry a lot of their "HITS" came from ONE SONG....."Im only human" by the human league. Heres a list:
Tender Love-Force MD's If you were here with me-2night Alexander Oneal Tell me if you still Care-SOS Band Can U stand the rain-New Edition Sensitivity-Ralph Tresvant Money cant' buy U love- Ralph Tresvant "Mo money Soudtrack" Giving my all to you-Johnny Gill On Bended knee-Boyz 2 Men Come back to me-Janet Jackson and probably a few others I forgot. what bothers me is that when people cant come up with anything ORIGINAL. They go to the Last resort of sampling a classic. WHY????? Her 1st 3 joints (releases) with Jimmy and Terry will always be my Favs. I will say this, The Industry is need of a wake up call and there's a revolution going on right now(musically speaking that is) in every basement, in every home studio accross the GLOBE!. And everything that is underground will reach above ground(mainstream) without compromise. Remeber.....The EXOUDUS has begun. The Best thing Janet could do for her career is to leave JD out of the production side(Damita Jo is a good example)
