FOLEY exclusive vault track*********** This is being made available to you via FOLEY for the listeners for the 1st time. This is a deep groove that was submitted to Eric Clapton 12 years ago. FOLEY liked the gritty feel to it and I'm sure alot the fans will feel the same way. All instruments and vox by FOLEY. It has a nice crystaline kinetic funky guitar rhythm, It's called "Aint bout what u need" Turn it up and vibe to the sounds.
This is the acapella version. I will up the other version after I get a response from this one. So anyways FOLEY wanted people to hear this who were supporters through and through. And if you know how he is about Vault Material then your realize this is a rare thing. And you cant get it anywhere else so it's good you read this thread . Here's your FOLEY approved sonic window of this time & space. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XJ1J1OQ6 E-N-J-O-Y

It's my NEW favorite song at the moment. I really dig Foley's vibe. I was hanging around Motown at the time he was "around". The office up on Sunset blvd.

That's nice!
I didn't know he singded too. I've only known him to play with other people. So is this the official Foley sound? Either way, nice track...added to the playlist. So how many responses were you looking for before you uploaded this other version?...'cause I can post again. Why do you like playing around with my narrow scope of reality? - Stupify

Glad you dig it. Yea that version is cool. Thanks for listening. Well, I think Eric was getting so much submissions because it's "Eric" that the miracle that someone gets on a Clapton record. You hear the Steviesque harmonica? ILL

But that track is what he was doing 12 years ago at that month/day/hr. See, I can't say what he is up to musically because none of us have heard anything from the 21st century. He has the most patience i've seen in an artist. Lp's don't matter. He just creates/records & performs for prosperity. the music mix haha? That's up to CEO of Smart Alec Inc. I just work in da mail room. But I have great news. FOLEY has a radio show every sunday I just found out about yesterday. http://www.wcbe.org/ "Jazz Sundays" 3-6 p.m. He's hosting solo today. I am guessing it's "Jazz" I should have mentioned this show in the first post. It slipped my mind. Check it out! [Edited 4/16/06 10:30am]

To be fair, FOLEY didn't want to be a career recording artist. He was chased after by Mo Jazz to make that album. Keep that in mind when you think about when you say "Fell off the radar" The truth was FOLEY could have rolled with anybody he wanted to. He just decided to stay grounded in his self and not be manipulated to make records, imo. So I really have to disagree with the question being posed in theory. If you keep in mind he only released one project to the public and a handful of sessions on Miles,Lenny White,Mint Condition,Speech. I can see why he doesn't get more press. He controls the flow of his visibility and the circulation of his music as well, imo. I didn't understand that at first but if you think about it after a little bit you start to understand. If you stood by artist legends and they were impressed by you then he already has that acceptance. Everything else is vanity in the industry to be thrust into the cogs of the machine and deliberately put yourself out there. There's a faustian downside to that and FOLEY has successfully evaded that part of being an artist. Now whats the downside of not being in the mainstream? I think in order for the momentum to continue we should just continue putting the word out there in increments like everyone who is a listener and admirer has been. Because if we don't the alternative is .....unthinkable for this world and that goes for every artist in FOLEY's position. That's why when you mention his name anywhere it's like putting a bulletin on every street corner of the world. Think about that..... That makes everyone important equally with a click. with the words of Seinfeld during a marathon "YOOOU'RE ALL WINNERS!!!" girl shouting at party to Runners down on the street

Yeah but everyone has a voice, that's uniquely theirs, at the core of it all. With this one song you've not given us enough to gauge. You'll have to provide more.

Whew! that live version of Fiona Apple's "Fast as you can" ? His rendition of the Jackson 5's "ABC" is one of Prince's fav's too. I hope one day he actually gives a damn about the masses. you know, being a star ? [Edited 4/17/06 14:33pm] "Who gon' clean up all deez Flowers" ----Eddie Murphy as mr. clarence
