Work To Do - AWB or The Isleys? Which version of this jam do you prefer, the original by The Isley Brothers or the cover by Average White Band? As much as I love them both, I'm going to have to go with AWB's version... it has more energy to it and it's a bit longer. It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

They BOTH do what they do!!!!! But since Average White Band inspired a MILLION casino cover bands, I give the edge to MR. BIGGS & the boys!!!!!

AWB's version is a bit by the numbers, but I dig the vocals and the horns. The Isley's did it best. I prefer their version of just about any song. As a strictly top 40 number, I didn't mind Vanessa Williams' version either.

I've missed you. Hey, thanks. Miss you too, boo! Just taking a peak around, saw the Isleys mentioned and had to respond. I'll be back soon enough. I was gonna use the opportunity to berate a misguided moderator, but why get myself banned?

The Isley's were damn near untouchable during that period. Vanessa's version is cool, too. My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth

I prefer their version, too.I like the way Ronald "attacks" these lyrics.Listen to his vocal as he sings this line... Keep your lovelight burning, and a little food hot on my plate you may as well get used to me coming home a little late

The Isleys. As people have said, Ron's vocals are killer!
I'm glad there are others who like Vanessa's cover. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis
