Who's the singer who covers "I Want You", sounding a lot like TTD? I used to hear this on the radio a couple of times some years ago (not that I listen to radio of course, but it came on a few times when I was in my mother's car). Maybe in 2001 or so. It was sort of smooth-jazz cover of Marvin Gaye's "I Want You" and the singer's voice sounded so much like TTD that for the first time I heard it I thought it was him. The phrasing was so much like, it totally fooled me. I'd like to hear it again.
Any ideas? | |

Any ideas? The only cover of "I Want You" I know is the one by Robert Palmer (he also covered "Mercy, Mercy, Me", was it even sequenced as one song?), but he for sure didn't sound like TTD, so I guess that's not the version you mean.

Any ideas? El Debarge with Fourplay! They did "After the Dance." Did they also do the album's title track? I know Marc Nelson and Montell Jordan each covered "I Want You," but I doubt you're talking about them. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

No,not Sam Cooke. It's a new contemporary version in the vein of, say, Norah Jones or someone.

It isn't the Avila Brothers, I googled for that - that one is from 2005, it's not even really the same song and the vocalist sounds nothing like Terence Trent D'Arby.
