What original Led Zep album should I buy? Meijer has all (or nearly all...maybe not "Coda" or the one before that, but who cares) for $9.99, but I can save like 25%, so I was wondering, other than "Houses Of the Holy", which I have, what original album of theirs do I really need to get, and don't say all...I got to pace myself (there are also a bunch of new releases I want to). Thanks.

4 or Physical Graffiti.
That's pretty much a no brainer. Any Zep fan would tell you so. [Edited 5/7/06 23:12pm]

Hell, I'm going to be spending a whole lot on all the new releases: Teena Marie Neil Young (hopefully, they'll have it in...) New RCHP (maybe...) "Facts Of Life" "Big Momma's House 2" (if the price is low...if not. I'll wait and get it used) AND RCHP-"By The Way" and maybe BSSM (same sale as Led's albums)

Wow, that's an interesting choice. You must be a diehard fan because no one ever says ITTOD. Not even most diehard fans actually. I personally love it, but it's not exactly a favorite of most people. Anyway, I'd go with (to answer Vinny's question) BOTH II and Physical Graffiti. Mostly so you can see how they evolved from their early sound to what is widely considered their best album. I actually don't even have a favorite though. It's impossible for me to choose one. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

I'd argue that their very first album is their best, even though between covers and plagiarism there's hardly an original song on there

NO ONE likes that song! I love it though. Yeah, ITTOD took me a while to appreciate, but at the moment I've been listening to it a lot. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. Turns out they only had like three of their albums on sale. "II", "Houses"(which I have) and "ZOSO". I didn't bother getting any of them...I can still get them, though.

ZOSO is also called IV, just so you don't get confused.

"Zoso" is actually IV or "Untitled" or their 4th album. I'd get both of them actually if I were you. II tracklist Whole Lotta Love What Is and What Should Never Be Lemon Song Thank You Heartbreaker Living Loving Maid (She's Just a Woman) Ramble On Moby Dick Bring It on Home IV tracklist Black Dog Rock and Roll The Battle of Evermore Stairway to Heaven Misty Mountain Hop Four Sticks Going To California When the Levee Breaks "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

ZOSO is also called IV, just so you don't get confused. Really, because on the CD it was called ZOSO (it didn't appear on the cover but on the spine and on that sticker.

I guess they do that sometimes. Zeppelin never named the album anything, and the cover was just that picture of the old man w/ the sticks on his back, so the fans started calling it things like "IV", "Untitled", and mostly Zoso because the 4 Zeppelin symbols (Including Jimmy's "Zoso") appear on that album. But it is their 4th album, or IV. It couldn't be anything else. And if they list the tracks, they should be the same as I listed above. I know it says that on the album, but the first four albums are offically known as I, II, III, and IV. Zoso is an unofficial name fans use. Allmusic calls it IV. http://www.allmusic.com/c...z1z88ajyv4
