I would agree! No offense, but I don't think the "young'uns" realize how different this video was when it was released. I remember thinking it was fascinating. You'd have to remember what else was out there.... Well, I'm not really a "young'un", I'm 43 years old, and was in my early 20's when the video for "Rockit" came out. I was not impressed with it (and still am not, to be honest). Think I would prefer the other stuff that was out at that time any day of the week. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

It won even several MTV video awards back in the day.

It's funny because MTV wouldn't play this video unless Herbie's label "cleverly disguised" him in the video. Herbie said the original video featured him and his band more than the robots.

This is very funny. I don't know anyone who actually likes it. Guess classic status depends on 'the audience'.
Inadvertently, I've made a horribel pun. I hereby use this edit to humbly ask for your forgivenss without actually removing the offending pun. Thank you. [Edited 4/30/06 7:13am] [Edited 4/30/06 7:19am]

Man U need 2 stop dissin' this vid.
Godley & Creme are genius directors and creat identity with each of their videos. This being the prominent. And for those over 35+, U KNOW U were breakin' in the streets to it with that boom box U had a downpayment for! 'dre Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

The song itself I got tired of real quick. But the video was fun and amusing. I wouldn't really call it scary.

The video used to bother me in a strange sorta way. The music was cool, I guess. That song reminds me of cats breakdancing on some cardboard. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

What year did this come out, I'm sure it still during the time when eMpTV refused to play videos by Black artist, plus Herbie Hancock's music is diametrically opposite of DURAN DURAN, Men At Work and whatever else was playing at the time, I'm still surprised that it did so well on eMpTV.
