She sure is. I love Ms. Cole. She's had so many good songs it's hard to pick. The "Thankful" LP was played in heavy rotation in my house when I was a kid.

This is my favorite song by her.Did you know that this song was originally intended for Aretha Franklin? I think she turned it down Aretha is undoubtedly the Queen of Soul, but Natalie brought a certain feel to the song and she sung it like she was really feeling that emotion at the time .

Aretha is notorious for turning down songs that later became huge hits for other artists, lol.

"Natalie", "Don`t look back", "I love you so", "Natalie live", "I`m ready", "We`re the best of friends" and "Thankful" is also available on cd, although "Thankful" is VERY hard to find. Johnny Mathis & Natalie`s Nat "King" Cole tribute album is also available on cd, you can find it on amazon.UK typo [Edited 4/27/06 9:55am]

Dude that was some straight up GREAT music. *note* Should I now start a thread on Deniece Williams ? I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

Picture yourself on the sea of a setting sun The salty air and the taste of your lover's hair Inside you want to fly Ah, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi Come to the magical mist where the oceans kissed A thousand kisses or more on the sandy shore And never says goodbye Ah, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi Ooh, La Costa, ooh Ooh, La Costa, ooh Come feel the warm of the breeze as the swaying trees Caress the velvety skies like a whisper telling you to come and fly Ah, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi Musical Interlude Run with the wind at your side let it set you free I'll watch the sun in your eyes as the seagulls fly Along this lover's isle Ah, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi You are my love and my life, you're my everything You calm the sea of my soul oh so tenderly It makes me very high Ah, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi Ooh La Costa, wee, ooh, wee Ooh La Costa, ooh Picture yourself on the sea... Come feel the warm of the breeze.. La Costa.....

Yeah, this is the only 70s CD of hers that I can find.I don't think her other albums from the 70s ('Natalie','Unpredictable','Thankful','Live') have ever appeared on CD,but I could be wrong.Capitol really needs to remaster this stuff and release it on CD.

OOOh! Good thread! But let me just start by saying that I saw Natalie Cole walking down Lexington Avenue in NYC a couple of years ago and SHE LOOKED AMAZING As well as she photographs, face to face she is RIDICULOUSLY beautiful...and how old is she now? Wow.
Anyhooo, that being said--- I like the stuff from my childhood; Our Love, This Will Be, Inseparable, and I Got Love On My Mind....
