Al B. Sure

His first CD is classic in my opinion and he was easy on the eyes if ya know what I mean. Whatever happened to him? I know people started saying he couldn't sing but that hasn't stopped alot of other singers. So what's the story? If he made a come back would you guys listen? I would! Bring back the old skool!

Now why was I about to start a thread on this cat just the other day after seeing him on BETJ Video Soul Gold? LOL! He trips me out with his voice! He swears he's the coolest negro on Earth, he's a good laugh/ But Nite and Day was a helluva album, one of the top 5 R&B albums of that style/time period. He can't sing worth a crocodile's dick but Kyle West made him sound like he was the shit! And ya gotta love the whole "Fast songs on one side and Slow songs on the other" concept that I never saw done before. Good ole Al. B. - Always good for a laugh! LOL!

Damn, you're saying Al B. was funny? And whatever happend to Kyle West Break it down? Night and day was the bomb album and yeah I thought the whole fast songs on one side and slow on the other thing was cute too. What does home boy do for a living now?

By the way, another great cd around that came out around time that I always kind of lump together with Night and day is the first Guy cd. That was the joint. "teddy's jam" was the shit!

Yeah, Al was funny because he jus thought he was the coolest mofo on the planet and his videos were hilarious - Those "sexy" looks he'd try to give - Like he was smelling something funky! LOL! He's a DJ up in the Bay area now. My ex-g'friend's sister used to date him a few months back.

And Guy's 1st release WAS the best R&B album of the period/style!

Naw, ALL of Guy's album you could listen to. B. Brown had some filler. Then you can also say his biggest hit was by Teddy anyway. wink

actually his biggest hit is On Our Own, it is 2x platinum, My Prerogative only went gold, but it did chart number#1, On Our Own charted number#2, but sold way more than My Perorgative as a single.

Bobby and Laface was the best combo sing MJ/Quincy

I dug his first album back in the day as well. But upon recent listenings, I don't think it stands the test of time.
I thought he shined on David Bowie's "Black Tie White Noise". It's a duet between Bowie and Al and it still holds up today.
Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.
