My guilty modern "hit music" purchases...Rihanna I just had to buy the new Rhianna Cd since I nearly got it for free with a coupon by buying some groceries. I basically bought it for "SOS", which is amazing, but I'm listening to it right now. I've already heard "Unfaithful" on the radio...It should really be called something like "Murderer" instead. I'm liking the upbeat "We Ride". Anyone else buy this new CD? I think I'm going to like her. This was a really quick follow up but seems to be well done and could be a huge hit album, unlike her last which was mostly known for the one huge hit. This might make her a household name.
I've listened to nearly the whole album. It seems somewhat heartfelt although I don't think she is a writer on any tracks, which is kind of dissapointing but the album is choke full of great upbeat dance pop songs and nice ballads. A good pop album. Nearly all of the songs have single potentail (except for maybe "A Million Miles Away", the sentimental ender/snoozer). [Edited 4/27/06 22:02pm]

It's infectious. I guess you like it or you don't but it's not doing all that well, which surprises me. It's only peaked at 30 and is currently 32 (although it has a bullet). I'm surpised because I hear it a lot. Maybe it's digital singles sales haven't kicked in yet....That's what helped LL's single to go Top 5 after intianlly tanking.

The album is pretty good (although I have no idea what's with the "If It's Lovin That You Want" remix). Give her a chance. I think she could pleasantly surprise people and be a notable R&B singer. More so than a lot of her contemporaries.

Never with that voice. She's aight. I think if she doesn't stick to formula, she'll do better. I think that's why SOS and Pon de Replay caught on, different sound. She could always model if this singing thing doesn't work.

Sounds like all the other shit out there.

I recently heard it again. The remix is tottally different and tries to be all hard (it's basically the music from some other song). I'm listening to "SOS". I don't care if you think it's just the sample....the song is hot. I like how the background vocals from the male vocalist (kind of reminds me of "Hung Up" in that sense). It's a very fun upbeat song.

I only know the singles
Pon De Replay is excellent deserved to be #1 If It's Loving Than You Want: no I don't like it pretty boring SOS: It's good although Girls Aloud or Rachel Stevens have done the same thing before but much better

I didn't really go on about it that much, did I? I figure if you liked the single, you'd probably like the album.
