Raekwon: Created the best album of ANY of the Wu Joints, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, but other than scattered joints here and there, he's been stuck in neutral ever since.

CO-SIGN. That album was sick.

I've heard there's supposed to be a ..Cuban Linx II record. Ya can't duplicate the original, though.

nod oh yes i have to agree, built 4 cuban linx is the soundtrack of my middle school years....it took a while for me to put that album away....

Enter the 36 Chambers is the only rap album that's ever had funny skits. They always suck, but not on that one.

Obviously the first album can't be topped, but what do people think of Wu-Tang's last few records. Good? So-so? Terrible?

Nah...Only Built 4 Cuban Linx and Liquid Swords are classics...And Dirty and Method have some cuts from their debuts...But Ghostface is the most consistent...

Me. But they went off dial and off message and off quality somewhere in the middle of their second album. Still, they've produced some real classic material together and solo, and The RZA remains the fourth greatest hip hop producer of all time - behind Rick Rubin, Dr Dre and Muggs ...

checkit checkit checkit word for word

XXL MAGAZINE: What's you take on those later Wu albums?

Ghostface: They was wack, totally wack. You could hear niggas got paid to just say whatever the fuck you wanted and leave the studio. But when you're broke, everybody's there. When money come into play, you got everything. You got bitches now that will take you to leave the studio instead of helping your brother get through on that rap or whatever. Just putting the time in, you know what I mean? And that's how them albums was treated. The W was a little too dark for me. It was gloomy. I didn't really like those albums at all.

Ironically, my favorite song on the record "I Can't Go To Sleep" was due to Ghostface's performance.

And that's definitely a "dark" song! omfg

Groundbreaking crew that faded.

But the sum of its parts are definitely greater than the whole.

Ghostface: The most brilliant and undeniably the most consistent of the crew.

Method: The most charismatic, best voice and delivery of the crew, but a lazy lyricist. But "M.E.T.H.O.D. Man" and "Bring The Pain" are classics.

GZA: The most intelligent and cerebral of the crew, but since Liquid Swords, hasn't been that interesting. The title track to Beneath The Surface was tight.

Raekwon: Created the best album of ANY of the Wu Joints, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, but other than scattered joints here and there, he's been stuck in neutral ever since.

RZA: One of the greatest hip-hop producers the genre's ever seen.

BUT . . .

"9 Milli N---as" from Ghost's new joint Fishscale is a Five-Star Wu Banger.
