Is Rodney Jerkin's stll a popular producer? If not, when did he fade away? As a producer, when did Rodney Jerkins kind of fall off the map as being the "in" producer? I want to devote this thread to finding out.
Here is how we will do it.. Care of wikipedia I found the list that is below. Basically I'd like anyone who posts here to decide what is the last song on this list they heard, be it radio, MTV, or word of mouth. In other words - When was the producer's last hit to date? I'd say anything after "I Love Rock N Roll" by Britney Spears I didn't hear much of. Does that mean after 02 his "glory days" were behind him? or is his music still popular and I missed the boat? I'd love some answers. Thanks guys! he produced alot of crap songs I think he's also responsible for Destiny Child's "Soldier",arguably the worst R&B song of this decade so far.

I've heard Soldier, I think. Say My Name is the only song on there that I know and like, though.

I remember him saying he was going to slow down after Invincible. After completing one of his ultimate goals I think he wanted to focus on other thing for awhile. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Darkchild is wack. He might be a nice guy and all, but I'm not feelin' any of his work.

Most of Rodney Jenkins' tracks are (as Vainandy would say) TOO SLOW for me! BTW, his tracks for The Spice Girls were the worst ever. [Edited 4/25/06 9:20am] [Edited 4/25/06 9:20am]

OMG, he made it sound like the Spice Girls were gonna have their biggest hits ever with him or that their success would be so big it would bring not only a whole new audience but make them rethink breaking up. What a disappointment. He needs to stop talking.
I did like 5 Miles Till Empty. I didn’t know he did that song. He had some good songs on Brandy’s album but I think he may be overrated. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I liked him in the 90s.
"Lose My Breath" was a huge song, and clearly shows he can still kill tracks.

Unlike a lot of the contemporary producers, Rodney is not just a beatmaker, he's an exellent keyboardist. That being said, most of his material is melody overloaded. He usually has a little too much going on in a song. When the multiple drum kick Timbaland beats were really popular, it was perfect time to shine for Rodney. Now that the radio "beats" are more scaled back, labels are probably a little less interested in his style. He can flip it, though. I think his skill level is above most of the R&B producers on the radio; it just needs to be focused accordingly. I didn't know he did "One Wish" by Ray-J.
