Michael Jackson Roars Back With G-Unit; "Trial Of The Century" ft. 50 Cent

Sorry if this has already been posted.

-----

Embattled pop star Michael Jackson will hit the streets in the coming weeks with the new song "Trial of the Century," which features 50 Cent, Lucy Diamonds and DJ Whoo Kid. The track will be found on Whoo Kid's mixtape "MJ Unit -- The Takeover," which will also feature five unreleased Jackson songs and mashups of his prior hits with songs from the G-Unit camp, Billboard.com has learned.

Sources say "MJ Unit -- The Takeover" will also boast exclusive tracks from 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Mase, Young Buck, Mobb Deep, M.O.P. and Lucy Diamonds. Jay-Z has also been contacted to contribute to the project, which will be released via G-Unit/Interscope and Jackson's new Two Seas label.

"Trial of the Century" will be the first taste of new music from Jackson since his June 2005 acquittal on multiple child molestation charges. He has since moved his base of operations from California to Bahrain, where he has begun preproduction on his first new studio album since 2001's "Invincible."

Sources say the first single from the as-yet-untitled project, "Now That I Found Love," will be released Nov. 21 and will also feature Lucy Diamonds. The track is being produced by Jackson and longtime collaborator Bruce Swedien, who engineered the classic "Thriller" and co-produced the album "Dangerous."

As previously reported, Two Seas Records is a joint venture between Jackson and Abdulla Hamad Al-Khalifa. U.K. record executive Guy Holmes has been tapped as CEO of the label and will also be tasked with managing Jackson's other business interests.

But it's more than about the project.
It's a very smart segue back.

How we do know this is legit? even so, how much would MJ have to commit to be on a mix tape?

Just curious..I don't believe I own any mix tapes to date. However, are they "tapes" or are they on CDs? If they are CDs why not call them, "Mix CDs?"

Please help me understand this concept. It is all new to me.

I'm very embarrased, because in the past I've heard people throw around the "mix tape" phrase and I would just kind of nod my head. boxed

The names sound crazy but that's the way it is with mix-tapes. People into them will understand...the others will think "MJ Unit" is crazy and they will laugh at it...and it will be in the press...and it will be a SNL parody...then the concept of mix-tape will become all the mainstream craze and next year they'll be in Walmart.

I'm excited..I like the sound of this. While I'm not a huge fan of 50, I'm just glad Michael is making new music and it will be exposed to a new fanbase. (Sort of..)

And as for the Michael haters that happen to be Prince lovers..I bet if Prince came out with P-UNIT - You'd be digging it. lol

i still call em mixtapes because on the labels they still say that too giggle

It is usually unreleased songs by artists to play for real urban radio only...usually presented by a DJ havin the most "exclusive " trax.

I get mine from the bootleg store down the street...they are HOTT

I'm a huge MJ fan and I'm definatley not digging "MJ-Unit". However, "Now That I Found Love" sounds interesting, and more like something MJ would do. I doubt the legitimacy of MJ-Unit and "Trial of The Century".

This guy was posted a few times here.

O.k. so it's a whole culture but you have to admit, there's something um...
CRAZY about this.

How do you take someone's song? not a few notes...but the song. And then to use the image too!...like it's ok.

Doing your own mix-tape (having a say in it)....at least the official one might be a good thing. I know this goes against the whole mix-tape thing but Mike is onto something.

Let´s wait and see what comes out of this.

Anyways, I´d love to hear something new from Mike. Better than reading some "court news".

I´ll judge the result once I hear it.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."
