It was on her album "Mary"? There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

"Faith" is pretty much free of that, but it was pretty much constructed from scratch as an AOR album in the vein of Sade's "Diamond Life". There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

OLDER is a great album; Strange. Dont you think I'm looking Older....

just be prepared for some serious whining, sobbing and bitching throughout each of them and a undertoe of "I Swear I'm a Serious Artist" This is kind of true, beginning with Listen Without Prejudice, and unfortunate. What was special about George's music was that it was so fun and catchy. His later stuff isn't any better than the Wham stuff musically, just a bit more pretentious & boring. He's still very talented, obviously, but I'd put I'm Your Man or Freedom up against any of his solo stuff. His perception of mistakes he'd made in the past was only his perception, I think (except maybe those short-shorts). I doubt he converted many doubters with his "serious music." My Legacy

Yep.. he has always had a problem with people that didn't label him and his music as a true artist... that is a good reason why his style became more.. But it's like he didn't believe in his own artistry or he wouldn't have made such a self-conscious attempt to be taken seriously with something titled "Listen Without Prejudice" and the first track/single Praying for Time. My sister said back in the Wham days, he kept asking the crowd to be quiet while he sang slow songs, and they wouldn't. I guess that might get old. He brought a lot of it on himself (acknowledged in the Freedom 90 video) but once you've had the success it's not what you think it would be. My Legacy

It varies: I love them all, even Patience wich is very underrated. But the best would be Listen Without Prejudice.

I'd say 'Older', in part because the songs just really spoke to me when I was going thru a pretty difficult relationship. That aside, he has some absolutely gorgeous work on that album. Clearly 'You Have Been Loved', 'Jesus To A Child' 'Fastlove', 'Spinning The Wheel' and 'To Be Forgiven' are standout tunes.
But 'Listen Without Prejudice' runs a very close second. How about some of the stuff that wasn't on the studio releases like 'Too Funky' and 'A Moment With You'. Whew...

I think Patience would have been a lot stronger with a small hack....eg, leave it at a 10 track...

Most people are able to identify the right one. Listen Without Prejudice it is, becuz it has some great song writing, just before George Michael started losing it, music-wise. His follow-ups to this album still displayed some brilliance, Jesus To A Child is still classic, as Fastlove is a timeless dancefloor smoothie. But Listen... in it's entirety it just a ball; it listens well and that is because of a good reason; most the songs on there are nothing short of amazing. It's Michael growing up, without getting too flowery and mellow (Patience) or too wannabe gay (Patience). God, I wish he would just go into the studio again and play Prince or Stevie... George Michael sings the Stevie Wonder Songbook, how about that?

whats up with all that.. Well, Elton cares about him but kinda forgot George's phone number, using the media to vent. Then again, George KEEPS on doing stupid things to get his ass in the media, getting arrested for possession and ramming cars. And about the album? Who can blame Elton for speaking his mind; it IS a dissapointing album for such a gifted artist like George. Like Prince, George only can hold his finger to the pulse of what's right for a short time... he is in an off-period right now. Let's hope that touring gets him back into the groove. He needs to hook up with that SugaRush Beat Company, they have got their finger onthe pulse, but it will probably bomb again, knowing the public's Idol's tastes' these days...

I was a little disappointed by 'Patience' but that's only because there are a few filler tracks that ruin the flow. If it was whittled down, I think it's a pretty decent album. I'm not quite sure what George's next album will be but I've read that he's recording tracks and it may be the fabled 'Trojan Souls' project that he's talked about for, what, 10 years?? If so, it would be a duets album of George-penned tracks featuring his favourite artists.
