It's official: MJ is coming back Jackson confirms new management deal
Tuesday April 18, 01:29 PM Michael Jackson has confirmed his new manager is English music mogul Guy Holmes. Jackson has signed a record deal with Two Seas Records, the label he has founded with Bahrain ruler Sheik Abdulla Hamad Al-Khalifa. Gut Records chairman Holmes has been named Two Seas Records Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The superstar is currently writing a new album which is due for release late next year. Jackson, 47, says, "I am incredibly excited about my new venture and I am enjoying being back in the studio making music." Holmes - who has helped Crazy Frog and Tom Jones top the charts - will oversee Jackson's new album and manage the superstar's other business interests. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/...-deal.html

This is very sad, I miss the micheal jackson from the 1980's...even when he started to change his color.
1979 -Off the wall 1982 -Thriller 1988 -Bad 1991 -Dangerous These were my favorite records. I don't really care about his music now. He's lost it for me and he will never be the same. I might offend alot of Jackson fans, but his new releases hasn't excited me in many years now. I will go out on a limb and say Prince's new releases still excite me and so does Madonna. Sorry Micheal, welcome back, but unless it reminds me of how awesome you were back in the day, you won't get my money and this has nothing to do with your recent legal issues. I don't judge anyone, I just don't think the music will be the same.

i think michael is a done deal unless he actually grows as an artist. i don't need to hear him trying to repeat off the wall or dangerous, there's no need to - he's done it and proven that he can do that. i want to hear what else he can do. if he can't show the public he's more than a guy who used to be great, he may as well just stay in bahrain and live a comfy life.

So true. Quite frankly he should just retire, I really don't think there is nothing for him to prove anymore. And anything he does do in future, imo will never match the stuff he did with his brothers and the albums he did with Q...

The only way he could interest me was if he took a step back into normalcy & simplicity. But he never does that, he always wants to outdo himself with the hugeness of the project.
You can see where Butterflys worked to some degree because it was a nice song, no hype, pretentious title, etc, but the "Invincible" thing seemed to fail as a whole. It was the same weird guy thinking he could just go on doing the same thing. It doesn't look like anything will be differrent for this new stuff either, just based on that one picture! It's sad because even if he didn't do anything wrong, he should realize that he has a huge image problem and it's time for a change. I don't think he'll ever see that. My Legacy

A bit more detail here...
MICHAEL JACKSON SIGNS RECORD DEAL WITH 2 SEAS U.K. Record Executive to be his Manager Michael Jackson has announced a record deal with 2 Seas Records that will hopefully see an album of new material in "late 2007." Abdulla Hamad Al-Khalifa (the Prince of Bahrain, pictured far left) owns the label, which is also distributing Michael's yet-to-be-released Hurricane charity single. Michael has been staying in Bahrain recently and the new album is a joint venture between him and the Prince. "I am incredibly excited about my new venture and I am enjoying being back in the studio making music," Michael revealed. Guy Holmes (pictured above, right) has been "tapped" to be CEO of the 2 Seas label according to Billboard.com. Holmes is mostly known for his role as chairman of Gut Records. He was the man behind Tom Jones' Reload album which featured the massive hit Sex Bomb and rejuvenated the Welshman's career. Holmes was also responsible for the success of the animated Crazy Frog's Axel F single last year. To discuss this news with other fans on the MJNI.COM Messageboard, click on the link below. It looks like MJ has put on a great deal of weight in his hips. Guess those protein shakes & weight training are doing the trick.

To the guy who said about the witness protection scheme, he does look like he's in Cape Fear ! I think it might be the jetty and the dark glasses.
Anyway, this all seems a bit low rent to me. I'd love to see him come back with a collection of restrained songs like Butterflies too, but I suspect it'll be more overproduced, early 90's robotic dance music with him yelping over the top. I can't imagine that the man who brought us Crazy Frog will inject much class. I would be surprised if anything's out by 2008, let alone 2007 either judging by the Hurricane song fiasco. I really want him to come back and give us the magic again, but I don't think this seems a good move, at least on the surface. [Edited 4/18/06 13:24pm] [Edited 4/18/06 13:25pm]

Michael's comeback without a tour will be a big deal for like a week. I doubt after all the negative PR from the trial, it will go to number one. His career while certainly not DESTROYED like certain people on Court TV and in general haters want to say, it was hurt by the charges. Now some might argue the verdict helped, but to be honest, if you thought he was guilty going in, I doubt you changed your mind. Same with the people who thought he was innocent. Either way, I doubt you changed "teams" so to speak. I honestly doubt this "team" will move much as far as music goes. Does anyone remember Kingdom Entertainment or Neverland Valley Films? Both "companies" that Michael started with other people, but no real PROJECTS got off the ground. Some might say, "Kingdom Entertainment helped with Blood On The Dance Floor, because look their logo is on it." To them I say, Sony had their hand in that project, hence the distrubtion being alright. (Side note, the promotion for that album sucked. I remember being a young teenager when it came out and just going to Michael's website and seeing his new album was coming out, I was like "WOW!!!") Where as, HIStory was advertised months before everytime you turned around. It was a bit too over the top. Perhaps, Sony felt burned since HIStory didn't sell 100000 copies, like they had hoped. It did sell good, but not good "enough' for Michael's standards which is BS in itself, to hold Michael to some impossible standard. As far as "Invincible" promotion goes, I understand it that Sony didn't give a shit about Michael's demands as far as, what songs should be singles (Hence "You Rock My World" being the first single instead of Michael's choice of "Unbreakable" And also hence, the promotion for it literally dying a month or so after its release. My understanding is that, that was basically because after BOTDF didn't push HUGGGGGE numbers, Michael fell off the list of artists who could "make demands" like he use to be able to in the "Dangerous" and even "HIStory" album eras.)
Sorry for my rant about various Michael things. In short, I doubt this will mean much a year from now. We probably still won't have a Katrina single or a new album in a few years either. [Edited 4/18/06 14:42pm]

This is very good news. I can't wait for 2007 (and I know it will be 07 because this Holmes person will push Mike to finish the record). Guy Holmes managing Mike sounds like a good thing. You may read that he's responsible for the Crazy Frog and go OMG !! But if he can get annoying sound to #1, imagine what he can do for Mike.
I'm so happy! This is a new age for Michael Jackson. Roll on 2007! Also, about the Hurricane Katrina single. My guess is it folded up and Mike couldn't get it to work so he probably just sent in an anonymous donation to a charity that benefits the Katrina victims and survivors.

Ohhhhh the thing that went with the Mario theme...? I think if that is the guy, Michael's current "advisors" must be nuts. That thing is not only annoying - but it does not sound pro at all.

Don't be so quick to judge this 2 Seas records. It seems like Mike knows where the music industry is headed... to the UAE. John Legend, DJ Whoo Kid, Kanye West and lots of R&B/Hip hop type of artists have been handing out over there lately. It seems like somethings happening over there. We may see the music industry boom in the UAE over the next few years. Mike knows what he's doing.

I trust Mike. He´s survived 40 years in showbusiness. I am sure he knows what he´s doing.
And I don´t know how about you, but I am excited!! Can´t wait for you to come back, Mike!!! [Edited 4/19/06 3:07am] "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

A year and a half seems like an awful long time. I guess he's enjoying the freedom of Bahrain and not feeling the pressure to work. 40 years in the industry , who can blame him. I have to say, after the disappointment of Invincible, i wont be waiting with breath that is baited.
