i know my o'skoolers remember this--i remember they rocked this on Soul Train back in the day--this Asian-themed electronica jam--i had never seen more than one Asian person on Soul Train at any one time (other than the long haired dancer)...this jam starts out with about 1 minute of cheesy arcade games samples and then breaks out into some kick ass beats!

Oh Yeah, I remember it well-- My copy was actually made of Yellow vinyl!!

I remember them on Soul Train, too! (Man, I wish I had a copy of that!!)




but yeah, that was the supergroup made up of Ryuichi Sakamoto on keyboards, Harumi Hosono on bass and additional keys and Yukihiro Takahshi on drums and additional keys...



they all went on to solo careers in Japan, but Ryuichi Sakamoto is the most famous, for his solo work, Soundtracks, film appearances, and for his collaborations with artists like:

David Sylvian, Bootsy Collins, Brian Wilson, Jill Jones, David Byrne, Thomas Dolby, Iggy Pop, Youssou N'Dour, Marisa Monte, Arto Lindsay, Adrian Belew, Tony Williams, Victor Bailey, Aztec Camera, Laurie Anderson, Bernard Fowler, Kellie Sae, Everton Nelson, etc....
