speaking of which, i'm looking for a dvd of the performance she did at paradiso in Holland back in 2000(?), dutch television station TMF broadcasted it a few times, but I missed out every time.

as stated on the playlist, it is an official release. it was sold at a few shows during her tour last fall. i don't know if there are any plans to release it in the future (if she'll make it available again.) | |

Where are the funk lovers? this stuff is HOT! My only question is where was this energy from Nikka & Co. when she opened for Kravitz? The keyboard player and guitarist told me after the show that it was a Lenny Kravitz show, not a Nikka Costa show. As if that explained jack shit, whatever, this footage is the Nikka I went to see. Thx again! | |

I WAS AT THIS SHOW!!!!!
It was one of the best live shows I've ever seen! The place was steaming hot (it didnt help the AC was turned off for her) and everyone was drenched in sweat. I met Wendy Melvoin that night (see my pic under my org name) and she was so damn nice.....she introduced me to Susannah who was nice as well. I have a co-worker who also works at the Roxy so we were able to hang out in the VIP section and there were some celebs...Prince's wife Mani, Randy Jackson (Nikka's manager), Lenny's band, Wendy, Susannah, Doyle Bramhall, Ben Lee. Since I work for the company (EMI) who owns the label she's on (Virgin), we were invited to the after party upstairs and I got so fucked up I started a dance off with a couple of girls and man did they get served! One of the funnest nights I ever had. Gotta get this on DVD or something....the entire show was filmed. There were cameras everywhere. peace Every minute of last night is on my face today.... | |

yeah, i was disappointed that "funkier than a mosquitos tweeter" wasn't on the dvd... i guess that when we pay for official stuff we get screwed. surely someone has the full tape... i still don't understand why this woman isn't huge. | |

Thx again Matt she did about 20 u.s. dates after the lenny shows ended... yeah, i still think the first time i saw her (seattle 2001) was the best live show i've ever seen. the way she interacts with the crowd and the energy she brings and the bands she puts together is hard to beat. to say that being both a meshell and prince fan says a lot... | |
